I once fell in love,
An indelible memory etched in my soul.
From our first encounter,
I knew it was you I'd been seeking.
Though I am neither naive nor reckless,
I tread with awareness and care.
Our daily conversations blossomed,
Turning us into extraordinary friends.
The world felt like our playground,
A realm only we could comprehend.
You're the perfect reflection of me,
A truth I cannot deny.
When someone whispered, "I miss you,"
My heart leapt, hoping it was you.
Eagerly, I prepared to reply,
"Miss you too."
I double-checked, wishing it were you,
But it wasn't.
In my mind, it's always you,
A truth I cannot hide,
