Evan remembered nothing. From the moment he got his wing shoes, to then, he'd forgotten everything. He had no idea why he was there and what he was doing there. He only knew he was there now.
He found himself wandering near the entrance, wondering what the hell he was doing. The only things that he really remembered were Annabeth, Glo, Percy, and Hermes being there.
He loomed near the entrance, slowly remembering some things, like his last name. He stepped away from the entrance, and forgot, as if it never happened.
"Uhm - guys?" He asked, turning to the others.
Annabeth and Percy looked up, Glo seemed too distracted. "What in Hades is going on here...?" Annabeth raised an eyebrow, before answering a question with another question, "What do you mean?"
"I forgot my own name. I remember my first name being Evan... but I literally can't remember my full name," he explained, pondering the possibilities of what happened.
Percy looked down briefly, before his eyes widened, and he slowly replied, "I can't remember my mom's name..." Annabeth turned to him quickly, as if this had happened before.
"Guys!" A familiar boy's voice exclaimed from the entrance. "Guess who's back." Evan turned to see Adrian, Suba, and Christian. Percy asked, "Do you have the..." He snapped his fingers, "...I forgot what the thing was - but, do you have it?"
"Uh...yeah...?" Christian answered suspiciously. Weird, Evan thought. Did Christian have glasses before? Evan had forgotten, but he always did.
Adrian ran over to Hermes, his long, dangling brown braids swaying. He handed Evan's father the messages. Hermes smirked slyly, just like Evan would, and got up, and began speaking.
"'Kay, listen up, demigods. On Guadelupe Peak, Texas, there's this old abandoned temple of Zeus, and now Gaia and her lackies are using it as their base of operations; a temple of Gaia, if you will."
Hermes continued, "Get there, do what'cha need to do, congrats, you foil her plans for a while. You can temporarily use my chariot...which is in car form. Just get it onto the street, and it'll auto-pilot from there." Evan knew a little under half of what Hermes had said.
"Perfect," Suba said. "C'mon guys, let's get outta here." Evan hesitantly followed, and so did the others. "But...where?" He asked. The three turned at Evan, "Did you not just...hear...what your dad said...?" Christian asked, high suspicion in his eyes.
"Yeah, something about a temple for Gaia on some mountain, I think," Glo said. The seven half-bloods walked out of the Casino, and suddenly, Evan, Annabeth, Glo, and Percy collapsed to their knees.
"I...remember everything," Evan realized, getting all his memories back. "The...lotus flowers," Annabeth commented, "they pumped them through the air, making people forget things without eating them..." The four slowly got up.
"That crap was...trippy," Glo said, scratching the back of his head, his long dreadlocks shuffling around. "Okay, Hermes said we could use his...auto-car thing," Christian reminded.
"His chariot," Evan corrected, "but taking the form of a car." He pointed to a brownish-gold car in the back of the parking lot. If anyone would know which car it was, it would be Evan.
Percy got in the front seat, since he was sixteen, Annabeth got into the front passenger seat, and the other five demigods were crammed into the back seats.
Percy backed out of the parking lot, and suddenly, the car began moving on its own. Percy leaned back and relaxed. Evan never had the luxury of doing that.
Nonetheless, the seven were on their way.
Hermes's car / chariot was going at least a hundred miles per hour, barely whizzing by other cars on the highway and constantly getting honked at. Evan didn't even bat an eyelash when they passed by a sign that read: Speed Limit, 85 MPH, because he literally couldn't read it.
Evan managed not to doze off, and eventually, in a pretty impressive time, they were in Texas. And not just Texas, Guadelupe Peak. The car was around ninety miles per hour when it slammed hard on the brakes, sending everyone flying forward.
"We're... here," Percy announced, hesitantly opening the door and getting out. It looked dry and almost lifeless around there, which Evan figured is exactly what Gaia was gonna do to the rest of the world.
The others got out of the car, and, exchanging glances, began to approach the mountain. Suddenly, someone yelled out to them.
"HEY, 'HEROES!'" A female voice yelled.
From what seemed like the sky dropped five people, looking the same age as Adrian, Suba, and Christian, holding weapons, the one in front holding a gleaming purple sword. She was brown, with black hair in dreadlocks, yellow eyes, a black hoodie and gray jeans.
"No one threatens Titan Gaia's plans. Prepare to get your demigod-butts kicked by her disciples."
