~>Abbies pov<~
I woke up to the sound of my mother shouting at me from the bottom of the stairs in her 'serious voice'.
The last time she used it was when I got caught smoking. It only gets used in serious cases which makes me worried.
"Yeah mum?" I responded wanting to know what was going on.
"Could you come down here, honey? It's important" she urged.
"Yeah, I'll come down now just give me two seconds and-". Before I could even finish I was interrupted.
"Now, please" she said even more seriously. This could not be good. I took off my headphones and set them on the desk before I ran downstairs.
I was greeted by my mum and two police officers standing at the door. I hadn't smoked in like a solid... 3 days?
If that's even a good enough reason for them to be here.
The one was quite tall, around 6'2" I'd say. Next to him stood a smaller man only about 5'10". They both just stared at me blankly
"Miss. Miller" the one began, I took a deep breath. "You need to come with us". He took a step back and motioned for me to exit.
"I am not going anywhere until you tell me what this is about! " i shouted at them. Probably not a good choice I deducted as one reached for a gun.
They both silently looked at eachother and the taller one nodded. The other one started to explain. "We have reason to believe you took part in a recent murder".
"Murder?! You must have the wrong person" I pleaded. "Who am I even accused of murdering?".
"Sadie Brown, a 15 year old girl, wh-" i cut him off.
"Sadie Brown?! As in sadie brown who lives on 42nd street!"
"Yes, I believe thats wh-" I cut him off again.
"no.. no no NO! NO NO NO!" I screamed and I cried as I fell to my knees and sobbed on the floor. I began to shake and I couldn't even breathe.
How? When? Who? So many things i wanted to know but one trumped them all. Why do they think i did it?
"Ma 'am, I'm going to need you to calm down and put your hands behind your back." They said nonchalantly.
I looked at my mum with a look in my eyes to beg her to do something. She just stared back at my with tears in her eyes as she shook her head.
"Mum.. please" I sobbed. "I'm sorry baby..." She mumbled back.
I felt the cold metal wrap around my wrists as they picked me up and dragged me out of the door and pushed me into the car.
I continued to cry in the back of the car trying to process the accusations of murder for someone i didn't even know was dead.
For a second I forgot where I was. That ended abruptly when a car went straight into the side of us sending us flying a few metres to the right.
I closed my eyes as tight as i could and just tried to brace myself. The cuffs didn't help.
The next thing I knew I was led face up on the road with a man who looked like a doctor staring at me.
"Oh good you're awake" he said relieved.
I had not a single clue who this man was but he seemed nice enough for me to not panic and I just let him do what ever it was he was doing.
"I'm Dr. Jameson and I'm gonna take care of you". "Just hold still it'll only pinch a bit" he said and before I could question anything he injected me and I fell asleep.
~>Dr. Jameson's pov<~
Thank god that girl is alive. If what I've heard is true she's the last person of her kind. All of my others aren't one of a kind but she is.
As my men carried her into the van I warned them "She is hurt badly enough at the moment. If I see as much as a paper cut on that girl you will all pay for it... She cannot get hurt. Understood?". All my men faced me and replied in unison. "Yes sir!".
"Very well then. Off we go" I said stepping into the van and sitting next to the girl.
"You have a very special gift, my dear" I whispered brushing my hand over the side of her face.
