Chapter 5- Powers And The Past

~>Abbie's pov<~

I was still processing everything. I mean okay medusa is real. They have superpowers, and I'm in a place for people with superpowers but I don't have superpowers so surely this was a mistake right I mean there's no way I have superpowers I think I would know.

By the end of this interaction a kid came busting through the doors basically skipping inside.

"Jayden!!" "Hey Jay!" K.C and Nuo said to them.

"heyy guys and person I do not know, who are you?" they asked just looking back and forth between me and the other 2.

K.C said "that's Abbie, she got here a few days ago and knew nothing about gifts or like why she's here..".

"Cool. Well I'm Jayden, I've got chlorokinesis, so I control plants and stuff".

I asked shyly "How do you guys... you know, actually figure out your power?".

Jayden explained "Everyone finds out differently, for example, I accidentally grew a tree into my house when I was playing outside. Bubble would just make shapes out of the water, probably the calmest one."

"Bubble?" I asked

"oh yeah, she's our 2nd youngest, only 9. Our youngest is sparky over there in the corner. She doesn't speak but I taught her some sign. Hey spark, say hi!".

Sparky turned around and signed 'hi guys'.

"she said hi guys" Jayden translated.

They all said hi and waved back.

"How did sparky figure out her power?" I asked quietly.

"she was too young, she doesn't remember but it was pretty bad" whispered Jayden.

~>FLASHBACK<~

~>Nobody's pov<~

Sparky was sat down in her crib when her mum came in to try and feed her. Sparky was an extremely fussy baby and would throw a tantrum any time anybody tried to do practically anything with her.

Normally she calmed down after about 10 minutes but she continued to scream and cry. Her eyes turned from a deep honey colour into a bright glowing yellow.

Next thing her mother knew there were sparks of light coming out of sparkys hand. Getting bigger, and bigger eventually catching a blanket on fire. Although sparky survived unfazed by the fire her mother wasn't as fortunate, passing that day.

Sparky was taken to the hospital where it happened again only this time people saw it and lived to tell the tale.
They were in disbelief about how that fire didn't hurt sparky at all. Not any burns, no coughing, nothing.

The news got to the people in the lab and she was taken from the room that night and never seen again.

~>BACK TO CURRENT TIME<~

~>Abbie's pov <~

The 4 of us stood talking but we stopped when a small kid came through the doors. She ran towards K.C and he picked her up placing her on his hip.

"Hey kid! You alright?" k.c smiled.

She nodded to him and looked back and forth between me and him in confusion.

K.C got the hint and told her "that's abbie, she's new".

"Hi abbie!" she said excitedly while waving frantically.

"Hey kid, you must be lucie" I said.

She nodded. "Hey, guys!! Can I show you my new trick?!".

We all nodded and agreed.

"okay, get me 4 cups of water and place them around me" she told us.

We all nodded, each of us grabbing a cup and putting it around her.

She did a similar thing to Nuo; put her hands up but she didn't close her eyes. They went an electric blue colour and began to glow.

The water from the cups began to rise into the air in lines, she continued to lift them and then moved them all clockwise into the cup to the right.

She put her arms down and her eyes returned to their natural colour.

Everyone started to smile and clap which put a massive smile on her face.

"Doc says I can learn to freeze water next" she said proudly with a massive smile on her face.

Sorry this one is kinda short I'll make it up to you next chapter :) also do we like the flashbacks?
