Chapter 4- Meeting The Others

~>Abbie's pov<~

After the man left my room I moved myself from the edge of the bed to the middle. I sat crossed legged and just looked around the room. There was a small desk with a chair set against the back wall.

The silence seemed so loud. I could hear my heart beat, and every single time I took a breath. I could tell I was in an isolated area away from the rest of the kids here.

I felt myself yawn and decided I should probably listen to the guy. I stretched my legs out from beneath me and led my head down slowly on the thin pillow. I closed my eyes and slowly lost consciousness.

*-*TIME SKIP TO MORNING*-*

~>Dr. Jameson's pov<~

I decided that today would be the appropriate time to introduce her to the others. She should be old enough to handle it.

I watched her through the mirror as she moved around in her bed whilst asleep. After around 15 minutes of waiting she opened her eyes and sat up slowly, adjusting her vision to the dimly lit room.

When I saw this I walked out of the viewing room and into her room she quickly moved away, confusing me.

I didn't get any closer, not wanting to scare her, so I started talking to her whilst standing at the door frame.
"Hey so I was thinking maybe today you can meet our other kids" I said trying to sound friendly.

She just stated at me for a while before giving me a quick nod and quietly saying "okay..".

~>Abbie's pov<~

"Do you want to do it later or now?" he asked me.
"Now.. Please" I said quietly.
"Alright! Not all of them will be there as it's quite early but we'll see. We'll check the games room first". He motioned for me to follow him out of the door so I stood up and walked towards him.

This place was massive, there were two giant warehouses, and some more modern buildings which we were headed towards.

He used the card on his lanyard to get through the door and then again to lock it. He then led me up a flight of stairs with a hanging sign above it.
It read '<-- Games room | >10's ward - - >'

We walked up the stairs and down the hallway to the left. At the end there was a blue double door with large windows. As he opened it I saw a room with 3 kids.

A small read headed girl sat on her own playing with a doll, a girl with short black hair and a plaid shirt, and an older boy with a beanie and glasses on.

The youngest girl was facing the corner so she didn't notice me and the older two were extremely invested in a game of pool.

Everyone was silent until the boy shouted "YOU CAN'T JUST BLOW THE BALL OUT OF THE WAY!?".

To which the girl responded "I just did.. Didn't I?". She smirked.

"W- well yeah but..." he tried. "You're just a bad loser" she laughed
"Am not!"
"Are too!"
"AM NOT!"
"YES. YOU. A-" she was cut of by the man.

"Can you please calm down, it's just a game, and we know what happens when people get angry" he said calmly.

The oldest boy spoke "who the fuck are you?" aimed at me.

"K.C, language! We have a little one in here.
Also how do you know that word? " the man scolded him.

"I'm literally 18 dude" he rolled his eyes.

"Nice try, you've been here since you were 2" the man sighed and shook his head.

"Nuo.. Did you teach him that word?" he asked

"What word?" Nuo replied pretending to be clueless

"he means fuck" K.C said.

"ohh... Fuck. No I didn't teach him the word fuck. Why the fuck would I do that. That's fucking stupid.". Nuo said giggling.

He did not look amused at all...

He looked at me with a defeated look "Well Abbie, that's K.C and Nuo for you I guess".
"Do we know if Jayden or lucie are going to be coming down today?" he asked the two.

Nuo replied "Jayden, I think they said they'd come at 11am so in about half an hour. Lucie, I'm not sure but she normally comes after lunch around 2pm".

"Well I need to go see macy so I'll see you guys at lunch. Goodbye children".

"Bye doc" said Nuo and K.C.

After he left I calmed down a bit and introduced myself.

"uhm.. Hi, I'm abbie. I'm 16 and I from new Orleans" I said nervously.

"New Orleans?? Cool!" K.C said.

"So guys what is this place?" I asked. They both laughed.
"What?" I said in confusion.

K.C asked "You're kidding right?".

I'm assuming the look on my face told him I wasn't.

"oh shiiit... He didn't tell you. Well, this is a school/ lab where we get trained and stuff" Nuo explained.

K.C interrupted her "so what's your gift?"

"Gift? Like a present" I looked at them confused.

"Like.. Your power" said nuo.

"Power? You're joking right? I'm not a superhero".

They both stared at me.

"Do you seriously know nothing about where you are or what you are?" Asked nuo.

"no.." i was starting to worry.

"okay look, I have aerokenesis, I can control wind" nuo told me.

I wouldn't of believe her unless she did what she did.
She put her hand up infront of her and closed her eyes. I then felt a gust of wind blow through my hair and around me in circles. Then she put her hand down and it stopped.

When she opened her eyes they glowed a pale blue colour and then back to her natural brown.

I looked up at K.C and asked 'and you?'

He answered "I have the power of petrification, when people look me in the eyes they turn to stone. And yes.. I have snake hair, that's what the beanies for".

He lifted it up slightly to show a snake head or two

"so like medusa but real?"I laughed.

K.C explained "oh medusa was real, she was like me"

I must've stared at him for a whole hour.

wow that was long also nuo, k.c and abbie make a cute little group.
