Everything was moving.

Avery felt everything she'd consumed in the last 24 hours be on the brink of escaping, and when she finally hit something that wasn't swirling madly, she let out a gasp of relief.

Her head swimming, she took a few deep breaths and tried to observe her surroundings. Trees, grass, grass, bag, Hermione, Harry, blood, Ron- blood!

She sat up, ignoring the stabbing pain in her forehead at the sharp movement, and scrambled over to Hermione's side, choked at the sight; a rather large fragment of Ron's arm appeared to be missing. "Hermione, Ron-!"

"I know, I know!" Avery didn't think she had ever heard Hermione so panicked as she struggled to calm both herself and Ron down; the redhead was shaking, gasping for breath. "Oh my God. Shh, shh, shh, it's alright, it's okay-"

She looked up at Harry, who was approaching with a shocked look that mirrored Avery's. "Harry! Harry, quickly, in my bag! There's a bottle labelled Essence of Dittany."

Hermione was positively trembling; Avery had never seen her this riled up, not even over homework or exams, and she had no idea on what to do to help. Overwhelmed with anxiety, Avery ducked her head and called on Harry. "Come on, man!"

"Okay, okay, quickly!" Hermione urged, her hands trembling.

"Accio Dittany," the small vial flew into Harry's hand, and he rushed over to the three, freezing when he saw Ron. "Hermione, his arm-"

"I know, I know, unstopper it!" She took the bottle from Harry, lowering it over Ron's arm. "Okay, it's gonna sting a little bit..."

"What happened? I thought we were meant to be going back to Grimmauld Place," Harry asked.

"We were, we were, shh, shh it's alright, one more, one more-" Hermione explained frantically as Ron's whimpers began to ease. "We were there, we were there, but Yaxley had hold of me, and I.. I knew once he'd seen where we were, we couldn't stay, so I brought us here, but Ron got splinched!"

Holding onto Hermione's sleeve for mutual reassurance, Avery stared at the brunette in shock for a moment. "He's at Grimmauld Place?"

Hermione's eyes sparkled with unshed tears. "Since Dumbledore died, we're Secret Keepers, and now I've given away the secret, haven't I? He's inside."

Trying to not let a wave of nausea overwhelm her, Avery let her gaze drop to the grass for a moment. "Shit."

Breathing desperate apologies over and over, Hermione turned back to Ron.

"Hermione," Avery muttered, moving herself into a sitting position beside her and Ron. When there was no clear answer, she hissed again, louder this time. "Goddamn it, Granger, look at me!"

Slightly startled, Hermione blinked over at her, eyes widening.

Avery suddenly felt her cheeks dust a lush pink, and she dropped her gaze, clearing her throat. "Uh- it's not your fault, really-"
