AN: If you haven't read the rewrite authors note yet, here's a friendly reminder that this current storyline was re-written and posted as a new better version of Seven. You can find it under a new cover. But this is here because well I wrote it before I did the rewrite :)
With that in mind, I apologize for anything I missed in editing.
Enjoy
Mischelle's POV
"Okay, so these are the pieces for Kenah," Jade walks into living room of my hotel suite holding a white wardrobe bag. Her long black hair flows behind her like a silk curtain, green eyes sparkling in the fading sunlight. A smile splits my lips as she approaches. I have nothing but beautiful friends. Jade was proof of that.
Not that looks were important. There's someone for everyone, but if you ask Jade, I was her someone.
We met our freshmen year at the University of Texas, Austin. Jade openly admits to hating me on sight.
To this day, I can never get a clear answer on why exactly. We literally never spoke until halfway through the second semester. Just passed each other in mutual friend groups. Her roommate Trini was in the Black Student Union and spent 80% of our interactions trying to convince it wasn't a cult and that I was "black enough" for it.
Yeah, I wanted no part of that shit.
I was intensely studying film, following my dreams of becoming the next James Cameron. I wrote and directed my first short film. It was a FUCK YOU to my nay-saying sexist bigot of a professor.
Trini was excited about the black female lead and was apparently a covert theater enthusiast. Picture the worst kind of method actor, bad British accent and all. She dragged Amara to the audition to stand in for her line reading.
Surprise, surprise Trini was a train wreck, totally misinterpreting my script but Jade fell into supporting character role so naturally. She played a brazen smart mouth wild child who dragged her friend out of her depression after her parents divorce.
So basically she was herself.
2 months of late night rehearsals later, we walked into our premiere at the Cinema Club two peas and a pod.
You know if one pea was constantly trying to sleep with the other one.
The rest is 6 years of history.
"Amazing," Standing I take the bags from her and hang them on the clothing rack in the section marked for Kenah.
Only 8 looks for 4 more models and we are all set for tomorrow.
Recently I landed a large retainer contract with Understated Leather, this Austin based high fashion leather brand with a massive five-figure budget that included my hotel for the week.
This was my dream fashion brand and my dream deal so I was being as meticulous as possible to make sure everything went off without a hitch.
"Wait, Jade is that mine?" I wonder. Flicking my eyes over her tall frame in my burgundy Chanel sweater.
That's definitely not what she had on when she got here. I know because she arrived in my black body con jump suit that zips down the front.
Her exact words when I opened the door, "Hurry up and unwrap your present bitch" as she slid seductively down my door frame. I almost shut it in her face. Almost.
Presently Jade pauses mid-step, lifts the collar of said sweater and to my horror, sniffs it.
"Yes, yes it is" She confirms with a nod.
