"Charlie!" A voice screams, "Charlie, honey! It's okay!" A voice belonging to my mother, "It's okay! You don't have to do that! CHARLIE!"
"Charlie!" A different voice calls my name, "Charlie!" They call it again. I lift my eyelids open and I feel as though I just woke up from the dead, "Am I alive?"
"Yes, you are alive." An older-looking man with a scarred face leans over me. I look around to see that the train is moving again and that Lee has moved to sit squished together with the twins so that my whole body can lie across the seat.
"Here." The man offers me a chunk of what must be chocolate, "Eat. It will make you feel better."
I sit up, which was probably not a good decision because I almost fall back again right after I do so, "What was that?" I ask the man as he moves to open the compartment door. He looks over his shoulder at me, "A Dementor." He opens the door, "Eat." He points at the chocolate in my hand and slips out.
I put the piece of chocolate in my mouth, "Did any of you... Pass out?" I look at three boys who have yet to utter a word. All of them look as if they've seen a ghost.
They look at each other, but Fred is the one who speaks up, "Er - no... It was quite scary though. Thought it might have killed you."
This makes all my nerves that had vanished come back. I had some sort of breakdown in front of three people I barely know and I needed a strange man to come and help me out of my state.
"Don't feel bad." George says, "We've heard about Dementors from Dad. Nasty buggers they are, according to him."
Lee tries to lighten the subject, "We should be at Hogwarts soon." I just sink into my seat and stay silent.
We took turns changing into our school robes, the boys first, then me. I still haven't said much since the incident. They continue to converse with one another, sparing the occasional glance at me to see if I'll join in, but I don't.
As soon as the train stops, I stand up and head for the door, "Wait up!" One of the twins calls and jumps up right beside me. He opens the door for me and I'm forced to walk next to him as I move along the train, "You don't have to be embarrassed." He whispers into my ear. I feel my neck flush, "I'm not embarrassed!"
"No, really," I look over at his face, which is not smirking like I thought it would be, "We were just worried. So, can you stop acting like we're going to start making fun of you behind your back?" He smiles warmly and it quickly turns into a smirk, "I mean it hurts me," He wipes away an imaginary tear, "That you would think of us in such a way."
"Oh, shut up," I grumble with a small smile playing on my lips.
We clamber off the Hogwarts Express and join the sea of students. Over the crowd, I can see a man that towers over all the rest, "Firs' years! Firs' years this way!" He shouts over the heads of everyone.
"Fred." I say to the boy next to me and his eyebrows raise in shock, "What?" I ask.
"I'm just surprised you can tell me and George apart." Lee pops in on the other side of me, "It took me months to tell the difference. And I still get them mixed up sometimes."
I look between Fred and George, noting the small differences between them, "Fred's taller, not by much, and George has more freckles on the left side of his face. And Fred never shuts up." I state matter of factly, ignoring Fred's 'Hey!' in detest of my statement.
"Someone's done their homework." George teases with a smile. I roll my eyes, "But, more importantly," I clear my throat, "Should I go with that eight-foot man because I'm technically a first-year here?"
