"You know what day it is today, right?" Fred and George sit down on either side of me. I stare at my toast, trying to remember anything special about this particular day. Then it strikes me, "It's Halloween today. I can't believe it slipped my mind."

"Not just Halloween," Fred says and George continues, "It's Hogsmeade weekend."

"What's a Hogsmeade?" I ask, my head turning between the two of them. Lee sits at the other side of the table, "It's a small wizarding town not far from here. You've already been there once technically. It's where the train station is."

"So, what's so special about this place?" I take a bite of my breakfast. Fred scoffs, "What's so special?' she says. It only has the greatest joke shop in the wizarding world in it."

"That is until Fred and I start our own," George adds.

"Sounds cool. When do we go?"

"After you finish your breakfast you've taken your sweet time to finish." Fred lifts my plate closer to my face.

I push my plate back down, "I will take as long as I like to finish my breakfast." I take another - overdramatic - bite of my toast and chew it painfully slow just to bother them.

I wrap my cloak tighter around my body as we step out into the crisp fall air. We join the other students waiting to go to Hogsmeade.

"Just a moment, Green," McGonagall says to me. I stop walking and my friends around me stop a few steps away.

"Yes, Professor?"

"You need a signed permission slip in order to go to Hogsmeade. I don't seem to have one from you here." She flips through pages of parchment before stopping, "Oh, my mistake. It seems I do have one from you."

"But, Professor. How is that possible? My parents didn't even know about all of this. How could they have possibly signed a permission slip?"

"Your parents didn't sign it. Someone called Clarence Nightwell did."

"What? Nightwell? Why?"

"I don't know why, Green. But if I were you, I would be happy that he did. Or else you wouldn't be able to spend the day with your friends in Hogsmeade."

I nod my head slowly, "Right. Thank you, Professor." I run to join my friends, my mind still thinking about Nightwell. Of course, he looked after me for a couple of days while I was on my way to Hogwarts, but I wouldn't call him my guardian. Why would he have signed that paper? It doesn't make any sense. My parents should have been the ones to sign it, even if they had to send it by owl a bit late.

"Everything alright, Charlie?" Lee asks. I smile, "Yeah. Just lost in my head again." I shake my head clear of thoughts and keep walking, "So how far of a walk is it really?"

"You don't remember the carriage ride from the beginning of the year?" George says. I chuckle awkwardly, "I was so nervous during that carriage ride I couldn't think straight. So, no. I don't remember how long it takes."

"If you get tired, I can always carry you the rest of the way." Fred winks. I push him away from me, "I'd like to see you try."

"Oh, really?" He smirks, crouching in front of me and trying to pull me into a piggyback ride. I step back from him, laughing, "Definitely not!"

"Fine. Play hard to get." Fred stands up straight, "You'll fall for my charms one day."

"When pigs fly."

"I'm sure I could magic some pigs to fly."

"And I still wouldn't be impressed."

The rest of the walk is filled with poor jokes and sad excuses for flirting from Fred. Hogsmeade comes into view after we pass what they call 'The Shrieking Shack' the most haunted building in the UK - allegedly. Hogsmeade is a small town with high peaked roofs and small windows. It looks like a village straight out of a storybook.
