Exactly one week has passed since Milea has had that vision about me. I was both scared and excited. On one hand I get to leave Strago. On the other hand, I could get caught leaving Strago.
I have secretly made up about 30 plans in my head on how to get past the guards on the wall. I have thought of just unleashing Elios's fury on them, but that would take too long and eventually Elios would die. I have also thought about drugging their drinks, but I don't know how I would even put the potion in their drinks, so that plan would fail too.
I still didn't have a plan to climb the wall, but I had three bottles of Dragon's Breath, which can even burn on water, and some Cloud Fury to paralyze anybody. Then for the trip I made dozens of the potion my dad created. I feel like we'll use most of them on Elios if we do have to use them.
I just finished my lesson with my dad today. I didn't learn anything new as much as he taught me how to refine my magic. Getting into someone's brain has always been tricky for me. I don't understand how somebody can just get into someone else's brain as soon as they make eye contact. I don't think I'll ever get psychic magic.
My dad starts blowing out the candles as I get ready to "end" my day. I fold the clothes I'm going to sneak out in and I put it by the foot of my bed. I take the bag that I bought yesterday in the market and I stuff it with all the potions I made, careful that none of the bottles should break. I place that at the foot of my bed next to my clothes. I lie down, waiting until my dad falls asleep so I can sneak out.
It felt like a few hours before I heard my dad snoring. That meant he wasn't going to wake up soon. I quickly sprung out of bed and grabbed my clothes and my bag.
I tiptoed out the door to be met with my dad's stupid bird. It looked at me with those dark beady eyes. I shushed at it. The crow kept staring at me. "Just don't tell dad you saw me, and I'll bring you back the most delicious mouse you've ever seen." The crow stared at me for a bit longer, crying to decide whether I was lying or not. Then it flew away. I sighed thankfully and made my way to Elio's house.
We couldn't meet at Milea's house because it's too close to a main street where people can see us and hear us talking. My house wouldn't work because my dad could potentially hear us. Our best chance was at Elios's. Not only was his house a decent distance from the wall, his father and his step-moms won't mind to what he's doing in the middle of the night. It's how he gets away with most of his shenanigans.
I quickly change into the dress I laid out. It didn't reach down to the ground like my other dress, so it was perfect for running and climbing, not to mention it was all black.
"Hey. If I'd known girls would be getting undressed in front of my house in the middle of the night, I would stay up late every day." Elios whispers directly in my ear.
My soul nearly jumped out of my body when he did that. "Fucking Heaven's Lights, Elios you dumb shit" I was smiling, but mentally I was thinking about throwing a Dragon's Breath potion on him and watching him burn. Sadly, I couldn't so that.
He looked at me like he was doing nothing wrong. "No need to burst out the language. You just keep on getting dressed. I'll just sit over here." He sat down by the door of his house.
I pulled down at the bottom of my dress. "If a guard catches you on the wall, I'm leaving you behind. I hope you know this."
Elios just shrugged. "Don't really know if it's worth it or not yet. We'll find out on the wall." I rolled my eyes as I wrapped my shawl around my shoulders then pulling at the middle to be my hood. "So what exactly is the plan? Kill every guard we see?"
"That's part of it. As long as none of them run to ring the bell, we should be fine." I replied. "The whole plan is still working itself out."
"You expect us to leave Strago with no real plan?" Milea steps out of the darkness. She kept her voice hushed even though she clearly wanted to scratch my eyes out.
