~RAISA~
"Nahi Jiju, you can't enter without reciting a poem or shayari. It is a ritual." Aashna says as she stops Qaiser and me on the entrance of my house. Or to be specific on the entrance of the house which used to be mine till just 10 minutes before my wedding ended.
Currently we are standing at the entrance because we are supposed to go and seek blessings from the idol of God installed in my home and only then the Vidaai ceremony will take place. And as my younger sister and now Qaiser's sister-in-law, it is Aashna's right to stop us on the entrance and demand for anything. And this is what she is demanding for ... A shayari from Qaiser.
"But Aashna I'm not a writer like your Di." Qaiser says with a teasing smile towards Aashna which has me frowning a little and I look at Aashna to notice her looking at him with wide eyes.
She's so dead after this.
"No Dii, I didn't tell him. It was Rayaan Bhai." Aashna says hurriedly and I pass a look at Rayaan and he just rub the back of his neck awkwardly.
I can't even get mad at him because the way he looks right now ...
No. Don't go there Raisa.
I remind myself to not look at Rayaan for more than two seconds because if I look at his face closely, I might end up crying here and beg Qaiser to either not take me with him or take Rayaan with us.
So, I just simply lower my eyes to the floor.
"Come on Qaiser, even I want to hear a shayari from you and see what type of romantic shayari you have in store for Bhabhi." His friend, Rudransh says. I'm seeing him for the first time because he wasn't there for our engagement because apparently, he's in army, so he came at the last moment. Qaiser told me these things when he introduced us.
"Exactly jiju come on now." Aashna encourages Qaiser again and I hear him clearing his throat. Is he really going to do that?
Qaiser looks at me once and start his poem, which freezes me on the spot because I know exactly which poet this belongs to and what are the lines of this poem.
"जिस दिल विच साजन वस जावे
उस दिल ते जुलम कमाई दा नई
जदो प्यार किसे नाल पा लेवे
ओहनू कलेया छड़ के जाई दा नई
तेनु की दसान तू जान दा नई
एह प्यार दी गल फरीदा
जेहरा जख्म दिलबर यार देवे
उस ज़ख्म ते मरहम लाई दा नई"Everyone starts clapping as soon as Qaiser ends the poem and by the way guests are clapping and hooting, they look highly impressed of his poem. But the fact is it's not his, and I know it because I know who this poem belongs to and I highly doubt that the reason Qaiser recited a poem written by Bulleh Shah is not a co-incidence because in our case everything can happen but a co-incidence, nope never.
I know he did it deliberately and to be honest it makes my heart warm that he put efforts in knowing me and I'm definitely going to return those favors, now that we are married but still, I'll be staying within my limits. Because I've already made myself clear that I won't do love, not now, not ever.
