Chapter 13 - Rescue Mission.

It would've been nice if I got a week of uninterrupted sleep...

I awoke to the sound of vigorous fighting in the room next to me. My eyes shot open as I turned to look at the wall where all the noise was coming from. For a moment I mistook it as something else but I knew that Keith of all people wouldn't go that far.

Y/N: "..."

<<CONFRONTATION IN LEFT ROOM>>

Y/N: "Yeah I can hear that" I said sarcastically

Doing what any person would, I got up with my BDU still on and bashed through Keith and Natani's door, gun drawn and ready to punch holes though someone, only to see Keith on top of Natani attempting to kill him with a knife...

Y/N: "Could someone explain to me what the FUCK is going on here!" I yelled at both of them.

Whoever was sleeping right now would be wide awake thanks to the ruckus we caused. They both stopped mid struggle and looked at me with shocked faces. I withdraw my gun and stood there, rage practically fuming out of me.

This went on for a few seconds, no one moving. I expected at least one of them to explain what the hell was going on here but nothing happened.

I took the initiative and 'lightly' punched Keith to the wall but he rebounded and attempted to kill me as well. So I punched him again, only a bit harder. He went crashing into the wall causing a dent.

Keith: *COUGH* "All my life, all I've ever wanted was to come home. I wanted to be with my people... my friends... and I came so close... But now... I'm going to lose it all... because of you two!"

Natani: "What?!"

Y/N: "What the fuck did I do?! I just existed!"

Natani gave me a funny look before focusing back on Keith.

Keith: "I thought I could just let myself do it... We Basitins are biologically predispositioned to follow orders. The urge is... overpowering."

Natani: "What are you talking about?"

Y/N: "I know that way too well, but it doesn't mean you have to."

Keith: "It would have been the easy way... but I can't... I can't...I won't!"

Keith turned the knife on himself preparing to kill himself, but I immediately tackled and put him in a head lock while Natani cast some sort of spell on him. I was NOT losing another teammate like this, not again.

The wolf uttered something before conjuring a spell on Keith. The entire room went into a blinding blue flash of light before dissipating.

Keith: Aaargh!

Keith: "Ugh..." he collapsed on the floor like a sack of potatoes.

We all took a moment to catch our breaths.  I closed the door to their room ensuring that we wouldn't have any more surprises.

Natani: "Alright, you'd better explain what's going on real quick, Keith. Why did you try to kill me, then Y/N, and then turn around and try to kill yourself?"

Keith: "...It... it doesn't even matter anymore. I've run out of time. I've failed... You're not a Basitin. You... you wouldn't understand."

Natani: "Well you'd better try. That was an immobilizing spell. You're not moving until I get some answers. I want you to tell us everything."
