Escape the wedding

Chapter 3

Kevin notices that Charlotte was sulking while staring at the window.
"Oy what happened... you were just smiling a while ago..what is it that made u frown like that "
"It's nothing I'm just worried that I'm getting u in trouble for something you have nothing to do with "she sighs.
" Thanks for ur concern I'm gonna be fine....
But I have a question tho..."
    "Sure what is it "
"I dunno but how can u trust someone like me this easily to help u run from your wedding, do I not look suspicious enough for u with this whole attire I'm wearing?...at least that's what people think about when they see me ".
"Well, I sure thought that you looked suspicious at first. After you took off your hoodie and I saw u clearly. I felt this strange feeling its as if I somehow know you like I think there's a word for it..."

"Deja vu " Kevin thought. You're not wrong Charlotte. We've met a while back. And thus , he begins to reminisce..

***A year ago ***
The skies were grey and it was raining cats and dogs. Kevin, who was still a new waiter in Bobby's Cafe, was cleaning the tables after the Cafe closed (due to the rainy day). As he was cleaning, he glanced at the window. He caught the sight of a red head woman and a brunette man arguing with each other. He didn't know exactly what they were arguing about but insisted on watching to know what will happen afterwards. A moment later the guy pushes the red headed woman and walks away leaving her in the rain all alone by herself. The woman hid her face as she began to cry a lot. Kevin noticed that and hurriedly went out of the Cafe. He approached her and said " excuse me, ma'am do u mind if u come here inside this cafe. I'm afraid you'll catch a cold if you stay in the rain." Charlotte followed him to the Cafe and sat down. "Are u ok ma'am ?"
"I wish I could say 'yes' but I'm not". Tears trickled from her eyes as she was talking.
"Ok how about I make you some drink to calm u down ?" Kevin asked.
"So uhmm...how about hot cocoa with mini marshmallows.. "
" Sounds cool. I'll make myself one since it's my favorite drink too " Kevin smiled.
A few minutes later
Kevin came back with two mugs of hot cocoa with marshmallows. He sat in front of Charlotte.
Charlotte began to calm down as soon as she took a sip from her drink. "For real nothing hits the spot than a hot cocoa on a rainy day" she thought.
Anyway ma'am do u mind if u tell me what was making u be in a bad mood just a while ago.
"Well..."
"........"
"What? You're saying that you and your boyfriend were arguing because he ignores you most of the time. He thinks that you're complaining a lot and not approving of the business calls he gets " Kevin said wondering.
"Yeah and he always treats me like I'm his housekeeper or something like I don't have anything to do other than do house chores ever since I've dated him 3 years ago." she said frustratingly.
"Look I'm not an expert in relationships but I think you both should communicate more and try to understand for you in order to reach common ground. "
" I've talked to him many times....but he just gets more angry. He says that I deserve to be treated badly as I just distract him from his job and stress him by complaining about insignificant stuff "
Recently, I've noticed that he's been coming too late to the house frequently. " " "That makes me feel suspicious of him. Maybe it's because of his so called job at the tv station...."
"Or...."
"Or.? . "
" Maybe he's having an affair..."
"Who knows....maybe you're right, maybe you're not... "

" Anyways thanks for the hot cocoa uhh..."
"The name's Kevin...  "
"  I'm Charlotte , by the way. Nice to meet you ".

They both smiled and shook hands...."
" Oh it seems that the rain stopped. Anyways I gotta go... see you.." Charlotte exited the cafe.
