Vic's POV

"What time did you say we're leaving?" I asked, walking into the bathroom and stepping into the shower.

"In about an hour." Normani said, bending down to fix her heels.

"Okay." I muttered apprehensively, side eying her through the mirror.

"Why?"

"Cause. I don't trust the spur of the moment thing with you. You gemini's aren't always spontaneous in a good way."

"Okay, but I just wanna do something. We don't have to go anywhere far. I wanna just have a day with you. It's a surprise that you can't get out of honey," Normani walked over to me and wrapped her arms around my waist, hugging me from behind and kissed my neck.

"It better be a good surprise."

"Trust me. It will be." I could tell it was something important to her and my stomach began to churn in anticipation. She nervously stepped away from me, leaving out of our walking closet and walking back over to her side of the bed.

"I'll believe it when I see it," I chuckled, calling after her. "Give me a sec to do my make-up so we can get going. It sounds like we have a long day ahead of us."

"I hope a long night too" Normani replied, a seductive smirk tugging at her lips.

"Don't worry, boo. We have an entire night for that," I replied, rolling my eyes and walking into the bathroom to get ready for the night.

A few hours later, we were at a small restaurant and were waiting on our food to arrive. It was a Michelin star restaurant and we were the only couple there. If Normani was trying to make up for the night before, she was doing one hell of a job. The restaurant was decorated in my favorite color with gold and gemstone accents. Candles were everywhere, and the place smelled of teakwood and my favorite dishes. It was beautiful. The ambience was great and the waitstaff were amazing. They had even brought in a violinist, who was playing a beautiful melody.

"This place is beautiful, Mani. You did well. Thank you," I said, giving her a soft kiss on the cheek.

"Thank you. You're welcome, honey." She replied, a nervous smile on her face.

"So what did you do to set this up," I joked. "It's giving you are trying to make up for more than just a bad night."

"Well, I did want to make it up to you, but it's more than that. It's more serious than that. We've been through a lot, both good and bad. And I think it's time to really show that I trust this and am committed to this."

"I'm listening," I said raising my eyebrows, slightly apprehensive.

"Well, we've been together for almost five years. You're an amazing mother. I've seen you at your worst and best. You are the most beautiful and caring person I've ever met. You've changed me for the better, and I want to show you just how much I appreciate and adore you. And that you're the love of my life."

"Aww, I love you too, baby," I cooed, placing a kiss on her lips. She pulled her purse to her lap, taking out something that I couldn't make out due to the table obstructing my view. Her hands were slightly shaky. It was scaring me, because between the two of us, Normani wasn't the type to be easily disturbed ( or at least visibly).

"Victoria, I would never want to share those moments or memories with anyone else. You're a fighter and a strong woman. I love that. You're not afraid of hard work. You've shown me that family and love is important and can come in many forms. You've showed me that I deserve to be loved and cared for. You've showed me patience, because trust, I thought about giving up many times. But, you showed me that we were worth fighting for. I can't thank you enough for loving me through both of our worst moments. Hell, thank you for forcing me to love you through yours. To be brutally honest, you've helped me to be the woman that I am today, and I hope that I have done the same for you. You're the most amazing woman I've ever met, and I'm so lucky that you have allowed me into your life and into your heart. "
