Daniel's POV

I stood surprised at the un-folded scene before me, I furrowed in bewilderment.

She effortlessly took down the men as if she was some kind of fighter. Was this really the girl who struggled to defend herself back at school?

Ever since she came to the supermarket, she kept taking me by surprise.

from her even coming to the store to..

her calling me cute. 

She turned around as she was catching her breath, she looked amazed by her own strength.

"Are you okay?!" she rushed over to me.

I was beaten up instead of protecting her, that is just pathetic. How can I confidently talk to her now?

As she stood Infront of me lowering to my level of height, I felt like a child whose mother is checking on him.

I was ashamed to look her in the face, I deliberately avoided her gaze.

"Yes, I am fine.. Are you okay?" I muttered.

She nodded. 

Without our eyes meeting, I can already feel softness in her expression as if she knew me.

Its as if a subtle acknowledgment of the unspoken bond now exists between us.

"Uhm.. lets head back to the convenience store." She said.

I offer her a silent nod of respect as I walk a few steps behind her letting her take the lead as we tip-toed out of the area.

Naomi's POV

The walk back to the store was quiet.

Extremely silent that I myself held back my breath for some reason.

Daniel kept walking behind me--deliberately taking small steps. I don't think he knows that I noticed.

I'm not sure why, but maybe his pride was hurt or something. Mine would be too.

When we got back, there was already customers waiting there.

He tended to them while I called Aera to send me a car to pick me up. It was about a 10 minute wait.

After the customers left, I was still standing in place. It was noiseless yet again, I was almost sweating.

In effort to end the awkwardness, I just asked something random. "You... are Daniel's friend right?" I looked at him edgily.

His head rose as he opened his mouth, awkwardly processing what to say. "Uhh! yes!" he stuttered.

"Nice to meet you!" I flashed him a smile. 

He paused for a second which confused me on why.

He was about to say another thing, we heard a honk, I excused myself as I took my leave. As I stared out of the car's windows, he didn't take his eyes off it once. It's such a nice car of course!

As soon as I stepped foot in the house, I was met with an angry Aera who looked as if she was about to burst out crying. She was shaking, her legs clapping slightly together.

"Woah Aera, calm down" I said in a joking manner attempting to calm her down, but instead her eyebrows raised and she grit her teeth. She practically shoved her finger in face as I took a tiny step back.
