Mason is finally getting out of the hospital. I’ll admit, it will be much more difficult for me to fulfill my Angel duties now. Although, I have others things I’m focussing on at the moment. Trying to the find the elixir, protecting Mason from Nathan, and I like to keep updated with Elijah. He visits the Angel world often, and promised to let me know if the AGI set out to find me.

Although Mason still had a broken arm, it would heal in no time. Elijah and I hadn’t planned what to tell the doctors if they asked how he had healed so quickly. Elijah promised me he would tell them something believable, but for Elijah he’ll probably just go with something like, ‘it was a miracle.’

“Zuriel?” Mason questions from his bed. “Zuriel Javan Nisroc?”

I walk to the side of the bed, a bowl in my hands. Sitting on the edge I realized it would be pretty hard from Mason to eat soup with a broken arm. Instead, I spoon a little of the soup, and bring it to his mouth.

“Not quite,” I replied to him as he swirled he soup around in his mouth. He struggled to pronounce Nisroc, since the ‘r’ is supposed to be rolled and he  mixed up my middle and last name; but his attempt was really cute. “Zuriel Nisroc Javan…But seriously Mason, just call me Raquel.”

He nodded obediently, while I give him another spoonful. I had tried to explain most of the Angel ways to Mason, but a lot he didn’t understand quite yet. He seemed pretty calm with the idea of me being an Angel; I still hadn’t given him the idea of turning him though.

“So,” Mason begins. “Are you and me….Allowed to be together?”

I really wish he hadn’t asked that. The true answer was, no, we weren’t allowed to be together. As long as he is mortal, our relationship is forbidden. At least, until I find the elixir that will turn him Angel.

“Well…” I begin, not quite sure how to break it to him. His face falls, his expression changing to a much more saddened look. I couldn’t stand him not being happy. His happiness brought me happiness. His smile made me smile. “Look, Mason. I can fix this, I can fix everything. We can be together.”

     “How?” he asked sternly.

“She’s going to turn you Angel, that’s how,” an annoying voice came from the other side of the room. Nathan stood in the shadows, dressed in a white sleeveless shirt and loose jeans. At first, Mason wasn’t comfortable with Nathan being around him at all. After a while, fear turned into plain hate. “You guys make an ugly couple.”

Mason sent him a glare, which was returned with a smirk. I had to teach Mason to just ignore Nathan. Then when I think about it, Nathan almost killed Mason. I can’t blame Mason for hating him.

“Nathan, shouldn’t you be off at a strip club or something?” I questioned, hinting for him to leave. He obviously didn’t get the hint.

“It’s two in the afternoon,” he replies, raising an eyebrow.

“I’m surprised that’s stopping you,” I send him a glare before turning back to Mason. My glare turned directly into a smile as I gently left a short kiss on his lips.

I heard a dramatic gag from behind me, which only made me roll my eyes. Again, why is Nathan here? Of yeah, he’s helping us. I had found it quite easy to seduce him into helping me find the elixir. I think he may have a soft spot for me; the feeling is not mutual. But ever since the night we….Did it…I can’t really look at him the same.

After a second or two, Mason pulled away from me. His eyes stared into mine shakily, as if he was scared of something. “Will you really turn me into an Angel?” he asked me quietly.
