With someone to rely on, even just a little, the ceremonies, before the wedding, went by smoothly for her. And today was the day her life was going to change for ever with no point of return.
God, should've slept early last night. She yawned, taking her listless body around the house to shake off the sleep. Roaming around she examined the decoration done in the house. After a while of staring at the mandap, she started to walk back to her room. On her way back, she bumped into her mother, who was inspecting the preparations.
" Finally, I would be able to get rid of the burden on my shoulders. " Her mother commented as she walked past her, not even sparing her a glance.
Navya sighed, not in the mood to meddle with her. I don't have the energy to deal with her.
" Remember, after today this won't be your home. So if anything happens between you and him or his family, do not even think of coming here. " She added, " And don't do anything to tarnish our reputation. " She muttered which wasn't heard by Navya who was already at the door to her room, " Like the one rumour going around. "
Never knew I was a ' burden ' that needed to be get rid off. Feeling a strange tightness in her chest, she opened the door and saw Bhaeva sitting on the bed.
Smiling, Bhaeva said, " Sorry for barging in I... What happened? " Her eyebrows furrowed as she went upto her, " Sad to leave your home? " She pouted while giving her a hug.
" Maybe. " Navya replied. Wrapping her arms around her, she whispered, " I want to spend some more time with you. "
" Aw... Sweetheart. " Bhaeva hugged her tighter, " Me too and don't be sad, we can always meet up in the future. "
" You promise that you won't ghost me like you did for a year and not hide anything from me? " Navya pouted, facing her.
" Yes. " She nodded, " I am sorry for that and I promise you that I won't ghost or hide anything from you. Ever. "
" Pinky promise? " Navya extended her little finger towards her.
" Pinky promise. " Bhaeva assured, locking her finger with hers, " Now should we start getting ready before the others arrive? "
Navya nodded as Bhaeva dragged her to the mirror. In a span of thirty minutes, she got dressed which would taken less time if they weren't bickering at small things. Soon the others, who were supposed to help her get ready, arrived and a couple of hours later she was done with her preparations admist the chaos in the room.
" Damn, girl you look so hot. " Bhaeva complimented as the chaos in the room started to settle down, " Let me take a photo of you. "
Bhaeva searched for her phone while she stared at her face in the mirror. The foundation really did it's job and my goodness... the eye make is crazy. She took a step back to see her whole body.
Her long hair were tied in a bun, adorned with multiple pins and a gajra. The kajal added to the beauty of her slightly light brown eyes. The red, heavy lengha made her feel to just sit down and not do anything while flattering her beauty.
The jewellery is just as heavy as the lengha. She thought while putting on the jhumka. If I fall in this I won't be able to stand up without the assistance of a crane.
" Navya... twirl for the photo. " Bhaeva smiled, taking her attention while nonstop clicking the photos.
Twirling a little she chuckled, " You phone will have no space left at this rate. "
" At least I didn't buy a camera like certain someone. " Wiggling her eyebrows, she joked.
" I still have those ugly photos of yours. " Navya put her fingers on the chin, " Maybe I should frame them and gift it to certain someone. The bawling photograph of someone at their vidaai was a masterpiece. "
