Chapter 10

Elizabeth, Johnnie, and Skylynn were away for the weekend so no one was home.
Hayes and I walk up to his room. He Hands me a pair of Nike shorts I must have left here one time and one of his shirts. I walk into the bathroom and change. I walk back into Hayes room. And he's now in his Adidas pants and no shirt. God he's hot. I must have been staring cause Hayes says

"Like what ya see?" With a laugh.

"Shut up Grier" I say gently hitting his arm.

The rest of the night Hayes and I watched movies and cuddled. I was just about to fall asleep until I hear hears whisper

"Good night princess, I love you"

"I love you too baby" I whisper back and fall into a deep peaceful sleep in Hayes arms.

--Next Day--
I work up the same way I fell asleep; wrapped in Hayes strong arms.
I try to get up without waking him up but I fail.

"Morning princess" Hayes says.

"Holy shit you scared the crap out of me" I say

"Sorry baby" Hayes says and he grabs my arm and pulls me on top of him so I'm laying on top of him.

"I love you" he says and pecks my lips.

"I love you too" I say and kiss him back.

"I have to get home" I say and get up

"Fine" he says

"Bye Benjamin" I say

"Bye Em love you"

"Love you too"I say and walk out of his room.

--Skip to Emma's house--It was pretty hot out so I decided to go swimming in our pool.

I put on my tribal print bikini and grab a towel from the closet and walk outside.

I open the sliding glass door and walk over to one of our lounge chairs. Our pool is an unground one so we have chairs all around it. I go to feel the water not realizing how slippery the ground was and I slip.

My head hits the hard concrete and I see a big pool of blood before everything goes black.

--Emma's Mom POV--
I was folding laundry when I hear a big thud coming form the pool area. I remember Emma telling me she was going unit the pool so I bolt outside to the back yard to see her laying on the ground in a pool of blood.

I run over her and shake her to see if she wakes up. No response. She's breathing but her eyes are closed.

I pull out my phone and dial 9-1-1.

--Skip to hospital--
**Still Emma's Mom POV**

When we arrived at the ER they quickly figured out that Emma is in a coma. They have no idea when she will wake up. It could be a couple days or up to a year. Right now I'm crying my heart out. Sobbing in the waiting room with a bunch of other sad people. When finally a nurse calls me in to see my baby.

I follow the nurse down the hallway and into a room where I see Emma laying there eyes closed. Honestly she looks lifeless. I go over and sit in a chair next to her bed and hold her hand.

"Emma, it's Mom. I love you baby." I say. I wonder if she can hear me. I hope she can.

I sit next to Emma's bed and think about things. everything. Then a thought crosses my mind. Hayes. Him and Emma have been spending a lot of time together lately. Emma's father who is on his way home from a business trip and I think they are secretly together. I have Elizabeth's number so I decide to call her.

"Hello" she answers

"Hi Liz. I have some disturbing news."

"Oh gosh what is it?" She says sounding concerned.

"Emma in a coma" I say holding back the tears.

"Oh my goodness. I'm so sorry. How'd it happen?"

"She slipped by the pool" I say.

"I'm so sorry, do you mind if Hayes and I come and see here?"

"Not at all"

"Ok stay strong. See you soon"

**Hayes POV**
I was sitting on my bed watching tv when my mom knocks on my door.

"Come in" I somewhat yell.

She walks in and says

"Hayes I need to tell you something."

"What" I say

"Emma is in a coma" she says.

My stomach drops.
