Note: It has been impossible for me do updates every week, and I know it takes me one month every chapter but I swear that it's worth it. I will publish the entire story for you. I won't stop posting, I promise you ;)

Lana landed over Ominis' body and he surrounded hers. He was soft and comfortable, she breathed in his scent. It was sweet and intoxicating. Looking back, she didn't know when she had started feeling this way. Maybe she had always felt this way. Being close to Ominis was the only thing that made her feel at home when she was heartbroken. He was the only one who looked at her without expecting anything in return, with him she didn't have to pretend to be someone else. Now that she thought about it, she hadn't gotten away from him throughout their year at Hogwarts. Where Ominis was, she was like a magnet which felt attracted to him without being able to help it. Being close to him reminded her of the past, the past were she was happier than ever in her life. Lana still couldn't remember what memories made her happy, but she could only remember the feeling that being with him gave her.

Her, Ominis and Sebastian. A light thread that had inevitably been woven between them.

Garreth was there,  he didn't take his eyes off them. He was a spectator and felt a very troublesome feeling wandering through his body.  A sharp sting stabbed into his chest as he saw them together hugging each other, their bodies huddled together. They were under a huge, dark rock cavity and above it extended some very high walls towards the upper underground paths. In one of the parts of the platform were Ominis and Lana clawed, in the other Garreth. Both were held between gigantic rocks that acted as supports next to the wall. Nothing and no one could be seen above them, there was no trace of either Harlow or Sebastian. Which made Garreth worry about Natty and Poppy, who were outside the Mine.

-Guys!? Are you alright!?- Garreth exclaimed them with a lump in his throat.

-We're fine! Do you see a way out!?- Lana asked, she only could see a shadow who looked like the redhead. She recognized his wavy hair in the backlight.

-Maybe...On one side of the platform there were accesses to the boilers- he approached Lana to extend his hand.

-Thank you Garreth- she took his hand. He was shaking. His head was a mess. He laid his eyes on her, but he couldn't help but feel a troublesome feeling.

Lana didn't wait to choose Ominis over him. She had had time to think, and Garreth swore she would jump into his arms without a doubt. But it was a fact, she had chosen him. He held her but not with much force, this made her unbalanced but he grabbed her again. She looked at him doubtfully and he swallowed. He didn't want her to see that he was hesitant, that he wasn't sure, and that he couldn't face the situation. Doubts plagued him as he felt that she was playing with him. He felt stupid. In reality, Lana had never chosen him over Ominis or Sebastian. Maybe he had made it all up. Maybe Leander was right. Or maybe, he just had unrealistic expectations.

-What in Merlin's name... -suddenly Lana saw a light beside her.

Still holding Garreth's hands, she moved his leg toward the gap in the rubble. A hole that in theory led to a bottomless precipice. But instead, Lana stepped on what seemed like a watery surface. As if she was walking over the water. That glow looked very familiar to her.

"It's impossible", she thought for herself.

-Lana, what the... -  Garreth tried to pull her but she resisted.

-Wait a second, I think we can walk here- Lana let go of the redhead's hands and stood up on the water that glistened beneath her feet.

Swirls of ancient magic floated around them, and dozens of street lamps began to light up with bluish fire on the walls. She seemed to float in mid-air, as if nothing would hold her except that halo of light on the bottom of her feet. They looked around, traces of ancient magic opened before them, guiding them over a large surface covered by a rare luminous vel. The three of them began to walk very slowly and cautiously, not knowing what to expect. Garreth looked down, trying not to think about the vertigo that the height produced in him and not knowing how high they were floating over nothingness. Finally they reached the strange surface, Lana placed her hands and the symbol of the Keepers appeared on it.
