16. Don't Kill Her

As the mine collapsed and the ruins fell, Sebastian watched those he once considered closest, his most beloved friends, fall downward. For the first time, he began to feel an emotion he hadn't felt for a long time. As Lana and Ominis disappeared into the dust raised by the spells they had cast against each other, he felt a slight pang in his chest. An agonizing anguish, sadness. He couldn't help but wonder how it was possible to feel even a little compassion at this point. He surprised himself by realizing that he still cared. That he cared about her...how could it be? He had been waiting too long to feel human emotions, his old self, and he thought that Azkaban had already taken it all away from him. Any great emotion like happiness or hope.

Harlow and his friends laughed maliciously, while Sebasitan did not take his eyes off where his former friends had fallen. Wondering if they were okay, wishing to go down and help them. A lump formed in his throat, while his stomach twisted uncontrollably. "Lana, I'm sorry", he thought. He wanted to fix everything right there and then, but he couldn't figure out how. She hates him no doubt, it wouldn't be surprising. Unlike him, she was always the good one. The one who knew what to say or what to do, the one who cared about others. Something that Ominis had always stressed to him, that he had not wanted to listen to and that had pushed her to betray him.

It was naive of him to think that she would follow his footsteps no matter what, without any consequences. But for a moment he thought that she would do anything for him. Especially when she agreed to talk to the Keepers about using ancient magic to cure his sister Anne. He had been guilty of thinking that being a Slytherin made her agree with achieving his goals regardless of the means. Still, as we've already mentioned, unlike him...she was just like Ominis. The complete opposite. For Lana, a goal cannot distract you from what is right, but Sebastian was completely out of touch with reality at the time and he couldn't see beyond.

-What's that face about, kid?- Harlow's question brought him out of his trance and he turned his head in his direction.

-I can't go on with this- those words slipped accidentally, but Harlow could only let out a Machiavellian laugh.

-May your conscience let you breathe boy, if she dies we won't have to worry about having a pain in the ass anymore-.

-Take that away- Sebastian pursed his lips and his eyes showed an overprotection towards her that he couldn't help.

-Now you're the good guy...Wake up kid! You were the one who wanted her to leave this world- he placed his hand on her shoulder- I will not tell my men who have worked for nothing because of a fit of good intentions, it is over for you, now we will do things my own way- his disgusting breath gave off a foul stench that discouraged anyone.

It was too much, Harlow already had everything planned. Regardless of what he wanted or what he was supposed to intend. Everything had gone wrong in just a few seconds. Everything was set to lead to the worst possible outcome, that dark wizard was determined to finish off anyone who came before him. A situation that seemed familiar to him, like a reflection of himself. Lana was the target he had to eliminate, and at the precise moment he planned to kill her, he opposed.

In the Clagmar Coast and nearby, Harlow and Ranrok loyalists were recollecting goblin metal to build a new enormous Repository and recovering the fantastic beasts trade traffic around Great Britain. Theophilus Harlow was the new Victor Rookwood, or even more ambitious. His only problem had a name, Lana Malfoy. The only one who could stopped him. Ashwinders would fly to where the first trial of the Triwizard Tournament was expected to be held and go after her. He will finish her without mercy.
