Chapter 1 The acceptance letter to hogwarts

A note flew in through the window and landed beside me. I stared at the weird envelope glued with a sticker of an emblem. Hogwarts? Curious I slowly opened the envelope and called my parents down. We all sat by the coffee table staring at the envelope as i took out the note.

Dear Ms Lily Evans,

We are pleased to inform you that you have a place in Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Please find the enclosed list of all necessary book and equipment. An address will be given to purchase your necessities.

Term begins on the 1st of September. We will await your owl no later than 30th July.

I look up in awe at my parents. They had a smile planted on their face. Slowly turning my head towards my sister Petunia, I saw the look of disgust. I felt my heart sink as i knew i didn't belong at a school of witches and wizards! That is buzzard!

"Honey, we are so proud of you." My mum finally says. She breaks the silence and comes over to sit next to me, wrapping an arm around my shaking shoulders.

"M-mum...I don't k-k-know." I felt a silent tear slip down my cheek as i knew i couldn't leave everyone to go to a school of MAGIC!

"Lily we know the perfect people to take you. You will be safe as long as you're with them." Dad reassured me and came to sit on the other side of me.

"who?" I ask.

"The Lupins" I smiled at their response. I can trust Remus. I never knew he was a wizard. In fact i didn't know they existed till my parents told me.

"I don't know Sev. Should I go? I don't think i'll fit in though." I ask Severus as he lay ext to me in a patch of daisies. His dark eyes turn to face me. I watched as he picked up a daisy and whispered something to it. The daisy Flew away along with the others making its way towards me. They lay in a heart around me. I giggled. That did make me feel better.

"Can i have a daisy?" he asks looking at my hand. I lay there confused but then realised what he wanted me to do. I opened my hand a gorgeous fresh daisy grew in the middle of my palm.

"You do belong Lily...I know you do!" Severus smiled but we got interrupted by Petunia.

"F-freak! You freak! I'm gonna tell mummy what a freak you are." She screamed and turned on her heel running away from us.

"Tuney!" I called after her. But she didn't take one look back at us.

JAMES POV

I hopped out of bed and walked to the bathroom in front of my mirror.

"Looking good James. As always!" I clicked at my self with a grin and walked down stairs for breakfast.

"Here he is honey! Our little boys are growing up so fast!" Mum held two acceptance letters from Hogwarts. I turned around expecting Sirius to walk down.

Thats when i saw my best friend. He walked glumly downstairs rubbing his eyes. With an annoyed look he screamed at me for waking him up.

"Dude look we got into Hogwarts!" I said. Thats when his eyes shot up and darted towards the envelopes. Quickly scanning threw the letter he placed a smile on his face.

"We better go to Diagon Alley tomorrow to get our books and equipment." Sirius explained while making hot chocolate. I took the cup from him and opened my letter. On the back were things we needed for school. Robes, cauldron, ink, a pet, quill, parchment, textbooks all those kind of stuff.

The next day we headed to Diagon Alley via floo powder. The street was filled with loads of magical shops that towered above of us, each and every one of them having what we need. I better get my robes measured first then my wand. I head over to the robe shop where the lady made me stand on a stool as she measured my height ad width. I looked around the shop where my eyes met with a pair of beautiful bright green eyes. I tried looking away when i saw her blush and that was when i spotted Remus standing next to her.

"OI Remus! over here", I summoned him. Remus rolled his eyes and walked over beside me.

"Hey James. How was your holidays?" He asked as the polite guy he always is.

"Never mind that! Who's the lady you brought with ya!" I scanned her up and down waiting for her name.

"No James. Just no" Remus argued. he knows me too well.

"Why not!"

"Thats not how you meet girls!"

"I'm no gentleman like you Remus just tell me who she is!"

"Go ask her yourse-"

"tell me!"

"no!!!"

"YESS!"

Remus sighed. Looks like he is giving up. He pinched the top of his nose frustrated.

"Her name is Lily Evans."

"Lily Evans..." I whispered to myself. Once our robes were measured, Sirius and I ran out of the robe shop to look for mum and dad.

"Dad! We need money for our wands. Mind giving me the key?" Dad fiddled through his pocket and pulled out a shiny key placing it in my hands. We took off and dashed to Gringotts. I handed my key and the goblin lead us to my vault. He was short and scaly. Not the most appealing looking goblin but meh. The goblin slides his finger nail through the groove in the door, revealing a huge room filled with bright gold galleons, silver sickles and Knuts. In the middle of all this was a round platform with a small box. I walked in and opened the box. My eyes lit up as i saw the most beautiful ring. It was made from pure gold with an amethyst studded at the front. around he ring were symbols. I was about to touch the ring when it disappeared! I panicked and quickly stuffed by bag with some coins and rushed out the door.

I stared at my wand turning it around in my fingers. 11 inches Mahogany pliable is what Ollivander described it as. The wand was a light wood colour with a simple cobweb design that extends down the wand all the way to its base. I continue turning it in my fingers in boredom as i wait with my trunks to leave.

"James, Sirius! We have to go now." We run downstairs dragging our trunks behind us and hold onto mum's arm. With a blink of an eyes we arrive at Kingscross station.
