Joshua's Bizarre Adventure

Runaway.

I fell to my knees, panting. I haven't ran that hard in YEARS. I just screamed. Screamed so loud and it shook the forest that I had found myself in.

The leaves were thick and covered the sky. It was dark, and scary. I got up and started running again, but I tripped over this big log.

I just laid there and sobbed. And then I felt something attack me. I screamed. It was this weird bouncy jelly thing.

"G- GET BACK OR I'LL- I'LL-!"

I jumped up on the log and tried to kick it with my meaty legs but I just tripped over again, and I ended up crushing it with my body.

Now I was in pain. It was cold and I had nowhere to go. So I just got up and wandered.

"Please... I.."

I cried and shivered.

As I walked deeper into the forest, I could feel my body getting heavier and colder. I tried to hug myself for warmth. I didn't know why I was so cold, it was spring. But I felt like I was going to freeze to death.

I walked more and each step was getting heavier and harder to take. I collapsed into the wet spring grass and passed out..

??? minutes later

I woke up in a strange tent.

"Wh-where.. am I..?"

I rubbed my head.

I saw this old ass man sitting there at a fireplace.

"H-hello...?"

???: "Oh, you're awake."

"H-Hey.."

???: "Have some soup."

The weird santa looking guy gave me a makeshift pot of some liquid. It smelled really good and as the aroma filled my nostrils thats when the hunger pain kicked in...

I began to devour it.

???: "My name's Linus.."

"I'm Joshua..."

Linus: "I know."

"Huh..?"

Linus: "I'm the town's homeless guy, and I do a little bit of spying so... I know who you are."

"O-oh, can you um, please not spy.... on, on me, I mean."

Linus: "Well... if anything, I like to spy on you the most."

I shivered. Was he like my Uncle..? Did he LOVE YOUNG PEOPLE!?

Linus: "Oh, don't be alarmed. I have my reasons for spying on you."

"O-okay..."

This didn't put me at ease. But the food tasted... familiar. It brought a smile to my face.

Linus: "You really should go back home, boy."

"My uncle hurts me.. and I just... I just got rejected.. by a woman I loved.."

I sobbed.

Linus: "Well, that's because you didn't really give her a chance. She just said 'hi' to you, and you became obsessed with her..."

"I.. I couldn't HELP IT, okay!?"

Linus: "I get it, son. I really do. I'm just saying maybe you should just keep trying. Don't be creepy about it though, just let it come naturally..."

And it was then that he faded into the darkness.

I got up and started walking through this strange place. I wouldn't let my heavy steps get to me this time. I trudged along until I saw brightness once again.
