“Are you nervous?” Isabella Swan asked, walking into her younger sister's room with an awkward smile on her face.
Dakota Swan turned to her, and shook her head. She wasn’t nervous at all, she was excited. She could finally stay with her dad longer than three months. She was so happy to see him again after two months of not seeing him.
Isabella knew that her sister was closer with their dad, she had always felt lonely when her sister would leave for the summer. She didn’t know if she felt more nervous that she will feel like an outcast when she moves in with her dad, or that it will be the same like it is when they live with their mother.
“Are you nervous?” Dakota asked her, but she already knew the answer.
Bella nodded, her facial features showing worry. Dakota smiled, and placed the clothes down that she was folding. She walked towards her sister, and grabbed her hands.
“Don’t worry about it so much. Dad misses you so much, and he can’t wait to see you,” she reassured her.
Bella still looked worried, as she glanced at her sister hesitantly. She felt guilty that her sister knew so much about their father and that she didn’t. They should know him the same, he is their father.
“He won’t be mad that I didn’t visit during the summers?” she asked.
Dakota let a sympathetic smile take on her face. She squeezed Bella’s hands in hers.
“Is that what you're worried about?”
“Yeah, a little bit,” she admitted.
Dakota sighed and pulled her sister into a hug. Bella welcomed the hug, feeling slightly better that her sister will be there for her along the way. Dakota smiled, and rubbed her sisters back.
“Trust me, he will be so excited to see you, nothing else will matter, I promise,” she whispered to her sister.
“Thank you,” Bella whispered back, and held onto her sister tighter.
