Chapter 6

I stepped out of the bathroom, wearing One of Mitch's clothes and walked towards the living room but I couldn't find Mitch.

"Mitch!".I called

He stepped out of the kitchen, "I made breakfast".

"Really?, Can't wait to taste it".

"I hope you had a pretty comfortable night?".

"Yes I did".I actually slept more comfortably than I did back home.

"Leaving soon".

"Right after I am done with this".

Mitch stood by the door waiting for me to step out, he insisted on taking me back home.

"Are you wearing that back home?".

"Yes".

"That wouldn't do".He said.

I watched as he stepped into a room and came back with a deep blue knee length dress.

"Have this, it's mom's".

"Are you okay with me wearing this?".

"Yes, go change".I rushed into the room and changed into it, I walked back to the front door when
Mitch stares at me intensely.
"Mitch?".
"Am so sorry, I just couldn't take my eyes off you, you look alot like my mom in that dress.
"I could still go change if you don't feel good about it".
"Common, we should get you home before your parents get the police involved".
We talked and giggled loudly as we walked home. He told a lot of jokes. When we stood in front of my house, he kissed my cheeks lightly.I breathed deeply before knocking on the door.Mom opened the door and pulled me into a bear hug.
"Kathy, where did you go to".I could see the tears in her eyes.
"I just needed some time to myself ''.I said.
"But you got us all worried, your father, your brother, your sister and her brother, we were all worried about you".
"I'm back now mom".
"You still haven't told me, where you stayed, we are just tourists here and you don't even know anyone around here".
"Please mom, I have got no time for this".
"Come down for breakfast sweetheart".Mom called out.
I got into my room and changed into my clothes, I smiled as I looked down on Mitch's mom's dress, I would definitely return it to him, I would wash it and give it back, I stopped wondering if what I wanted to do was an excuse to see him.I heard a soft Knock on the door, I opened it slightly but when I saw who it was I gritted my teeths.
"Jacob, what are you doing here?".
He got in, locking the door behind him, "To see you".
"Me?Have you really gone insane?".
"I came to say I am sorry about yesterday".
"Did mom send you here?".I said fiercely.
"No".He pauses, "Of course not".
"I don't want to see you ever again, let's just pretend that never happened and move on with our lives" .I said gruffly.
"Is that what you want?".He asked calmly.
"Yes that's what I want, now get out".I pointed to the door but he didn't move.
"Have always been protective of Hilly and I can do
anything just for her, am so sorry Kathy, it's not gonna happen again".
I stared at him, "It's fine".I remembered the way Peter defended me when we were younger.
"You really sure?".
"Yeah".
"I was scared, I thought something bad had happened to you.I promise never to hurt you anymore" .He said.
"I don't know what to say".
"Am going now, later?".
"Sure".
I watched as he closed the door, wondering whether to be suspicious about him or maybe he really meant it, maybe he decided it was going nowhere to be immature.

I glanced around but it didn't seem like he was around, I walked over to the next compound, a man was mowing.
"Excuse me sir".
He looked up, "You have been excused pretty".
"Do you mind telling me, about the man that lives next door, he doesn't seem to be around".
"Mitch?".
"Yes!". I said.
"The last time I caught a glimpse of that nice chap was on Monday, I did see him carrying a bag. I'm sorry but I don't know where he's gone.
"It's fine".I said turning almost immediately and heading for home.
