The hot chocolate I sipped spilled all over me and I left for the bathroom, Hilly had just woken up from sleep and was yawning loudly.
“What are we having for dinner”.Hilly says.
“Mom and dad are out in the city, there is this friend they wanna see”.
“So preparing breakfast is up to”.
        “Us”.I completed.
         “It's insane”.Hilly murmured.
         “It isn't”.
Hilly looked up to me, “Why say it isn't, when you know it is”.
         “Could we stop arguing”.
“Only if you agree with me”. Hilly says.
“What makes you think I would agree with you Hilly?”.
          “Because I am right”.
          “No you aren't" .I said.
          “Am always right”.
“She's crazy”.I murmured softly and then looked
up to her, “Preparing breakfast is so easy”.I grinned.
I stood in the kitchen, whisking eggs and humming to myself. The kitchen is warm and inviting, with the aroma of freshly brewed coffee and the sound of sizzling bacon. I put the eggs in a pan, carefully flipping them with a spatula. As the eggs cooked, I turned on the music, filling the kitchen with the sound of jazz music. Hilly adds some freshly chopped herbs to the eggs and stirred. In no time, a delicious breakfast is ready, and we are feeling satisfied with our work.
“Hilly, how about you call Peter and Jacob”.
She hesitated,  “Sure”.I picked up my spoon to taste what we both made and it was really good not like……fuck you Kathy why bring up the name.
“Whatever you guys made is really smelling good”.Peter holds out a seat for Hilly and then settles down.
“I made”.Hilly begins but when I give her the side look she stops and then continues,”We made it just for you guys”.
“It tastes really good”. Jacob smiles.
“Thank you bro”. Hilly tugs at his arms.
“Not you Hilly, I know you didn't really prepare this without Kathy's supervision, am your brother and I
know damn well you can't prepare a cup of coffee”.
Hilly clings unto Peter for intervention but Peter always acting less concerned about things chose to ignore both of them.I looked away feeling guilty about the fight, Jacob was really becoming nice, the other day he offered to take me out for a walk and I accepted, Dad and mom had told me they were looking forward to our pair but I mom and dad were just wrong, because Jacob is just feeling guilty for how he treated me back in high school and he wants to make it up to me, no feelings attached.
I stretched my hands to add more sugar to my tea but I couldn't reach it, “Could someone help me with that”.I watched as Jacob picked it up quickly and handed it over. “Thank you”.I murmured.
        “Sure”.He murmurs back.
We had our breakfast in a quiet manner, no one talking to the other or saying anything. We just ate silently.
“Let's do something fun today!”.Hilly smiles widely, breaking the silence.
“What are you up to darling?”.Peter frowns.
       “Nothing, just some fun”.
       “What's on your mind?”Jacob asked.

“Pictionary!!”.Hilly exclaims and with that, she dragged us across the room to the living room area, we sat around a table, each with a piece of paper and a pencil. Hilly takes on the role of the  "pictionary master" and writes down a list of random words. We take turns drawing a word from the list without speaking. The people who are not drawing try to guess what the word is, while the person who is drawing does their best to convey the meaning through their drawing. There is much laughter and friendly competition.
Peter draws a stick figure on his piece of paper.
“Hmmm…is it a person?”. Jacob asks.                       Peter nods, and Jacob continued
"Is it a man or a woman?" Peter draws a skirt on the stick figure, indicating that it is a woman.
"Is she doing something?" asks Jacob. Peter nods again, and the third friend starts to get more specific.
“Is she cooking?”. Peter shakes his head.
Jacob thinks for a while, “"Is she... painting?". Peter  nods, and they both pumped their fist in the air. "I got it!" Peter draws a brush and a paint palette, completing the drawing. We moved on to the next player, I drew a circle with two dots in the middle.
"A pair of eyes!" exclaims Hilly. The game continues in this way, with everyone making guesses and trying to outdo each other with their drawings. The conversation is punctuated by laughter and friendly banter, and I must say I really enjoyed the game.
As the game goes on, the level of difficulty increases. I drew a squiggly line, and they are stumped.
"Is it a snake?" Jacob frowns.
I shook my head, and Peter threw out another guess. "A river?" I nodded,
Peter exclaims, "I can't believe I got that!".
“Me next”.Hilly grabs a paper and sets it to drawing. The drawing wasn't impressive, it was a drawing of a figure with three strands of hair.
        “Boy?”.Peter says.
“Obviously it's a boy, but we've got to figure out which”. Jacob snaps.
        “Wimpy kid?”.I said.
         Hilly nods, “You win”.
“Dude that came to my mind”.Peter murmurs slowly.
Jacob grabs a paper and sets to work.

“It's not a drawing Contest, it's just a game!”. Hilly
frowns .
“Dude, that is taking time”. Peter says.Jacob paying no attention to what we were saying smiled as he put finishing touches to his drawing, just as he was about to show us his drawing, the door burst open and mom and dad rushed in.
“Hi kids, nice to see you guys teaming up to do whatever you are doing with those pieces of papers”.Mom smiles.
“It's called pictionary and we are not kids, I am married mom!”. Peter snapped.
“Seems like they made breakfast for themselves sweetheart”.Dad eyes the dining table, “And they couldn't wash the dishes”.
“I was about to do that dad, but I got so engrossed in the game”.I pushed my papers aside, getting up to my feet and headed for the kitchen.
“What!, I didn't even have a go”. Jacob protested.
“That's because you were too slow”.Peter walks over to my side, “Mind if I help you with the dishes?”.
         “Huh?”.I looked really surprised.
“Mind if I..”.He started but I stopped him.

“I heard you loud and clear, but it's just that am
surprised”.
      “Surprised?”.He stared at me.
“It's been awhile since you've asked me that or even talked to me”.
He smiled and pulled me to him, “I know I haven't been the best brother but I would make it up to you”.
       “Are you sure about that?”.
       “Surer than ever”.
Mom and dad who had been smiling walked to the center, “That matches what we wanna tell you guys”.
“What could that be?”. Jacob queried.
“We made a reservation for lunch in one of the best restaurants in Athens and that's where we would have our lunch tomorrow”.Dad announced.
         “Classic”.Hilly bites her lips.
“The food over there is to die for”.Mom said.
“And I am making a special announcement tomorrow”.Hilly twirls around.
When all eyes were focused on her, Peter couldn't help but wonder what she was up to again, “Darling could you give us a hint?”.
          “No”.She frowns.
