Wooderson pulled his car into Mitch's driveway, honking the horn to let him know to come outside. After a minute, Mitch came through the front door. He jogged to the car, stopping at the passenger side. Pink rolled down his window. "Hey, hop in man."
"Hey, man, whose car?"
"You know Wooderson?" Pink leaned back, Wooderson coming into Mitch's view.
"How's it going man?" he asked smoothly, resting his hands on the steering wheel. Mitch opens the back door and climbs in, sitting next to Carmen.
"Hey. Pretty good, how's it going with you?"
"Say, man, you got a joint?"
"Er, not on me, man," Mitch said nervously, making Carmen giggle to herself.
"It'd be a lot cooler if you did," he said as he backed out of the driveway. Mitch shakes off what he says and turns his attention toward Carmen.
"You look nice." He's now wearing a floral print shirt and jeans. "Hey, we kind of match," she said, tugging on her shirt. He laughs at her making her smile.
"Yeah, I guess we do."
The rest of the drive consisted of small talk between the four. As they pulled into the parking lot of the Emporium, Mitch felt himself getting nervous. "You'll be fine," Carmen whispered. He turns to look at her, giving her a slight smile.
The four of them hop out and make their way towards the entrance. "Hey man, you sure I'm okay in here?" Mitch looks to Pink.
"Yeah man, you'll be okay. Look, if anyone starts messing with you just play cool," he assured making Mitch nod at him.
Wooderson leads them through the door, making his grand entrance. The smell of cigarettes and beer fills Carmen's nose, making her scrunch up her face. They make their way towards the back, meeting up with the rest of the gang.
"P-rickford," Wooderson greeted.
"Wood-a-been-happening," Kevin replied.
"Real bummer about your party man."
"What can I say, it's beyond me man." He shrugs. "The delivery guy bricked." As the two of them continue their conversation, Mitch and Carmen follow Pink around the building like a mother duck leading her children.
"Hey, Randall, how's it going?" a blonde girl greeted. She's on one of the pool tables, beer in hand. Carmen can tell she's older.
"Hey, what's going on?"
"Nothing."
"Not much."
"Nothing at all."
"This is my sister, Carmen." He points to Carmen, making her wave at the girl.
