"Hey! Hinata!" Sugawara called out to me as I was running toward the gym for volley practice. "I have something I want to give you. I'll give it to the other first years later." Sugawara pulled out a piece of paper with hand singles on it. "There my hand singles. I'm not as accurate as Kageyama, so I give singles to say what I'm going to do next."

"Yah..." I said grabbing the paper from him. "Kageyama is basically a super human when it comes to his accuracy. I've used hand singles before too. Super helpful. Thanks!"

"I know it's a bit of a pain to memorize them, but they will be useful for volleyball."

"What?" I look away from the sheet of paper. "Who said I didn't like memorizing things?"

"Huh?" Sugawara looked confused.

"I'm pretty good at memorizing and applying things."

"Oh." Sugawara smiled toward me. "Sorry, Daichi told me that your grades were pretty bad, so I just assumed."

"They are pretty bad. I guess I just haven't gotten used to how they grade things here. I've never really had to show my work or explain my answers before, so I get pretty bad grades on the homework. Then I have really bad testing anxiety, so that doesn't help much at all either. It's unfortunate. I worked so hard to be good at memorizing things only for it not to be useful here." I give the sheet of paper back to Sugawara. "Here you go. I just got them all memorized!" Sugawara looked at me.

"I guess this is another thing I won't get more details on." He said as he looked down towards the floor.

"Yah. Sorry about that."

During practice, I practiced with Sugawara. If I want to be a good player, I have to be able to hit any toss that comes my way. Practice went off without a hitch, and cleaning up followed shortly after. I went with the team to the Coach's shop after practice. They were buying pork buns, and while I wouldn't have any, I liked being around the team. Daichi offered me a pork bun. I declined.

"Oh, right. Sorry Hinata, I forgot."

"It's fine." I responded.

"So, do you eat any meat?" Tanaka asked me, loudly chewing his food.

"I don't eat any red meat. I stopped that when I was 12 I think. Maybe 11."

"Just red meat?"

"Yah, even thinking about eating red meat makes me want to throw up. I can stomach white meat and fish though."

"Why'd you make that choice?" Sugawara asked. I look at him, causing him to wave his hands in front of him. "You don't have to answer. I'm just curious."

"No, it's fine." I take a deep breath. "I don't eat it because I've seen some people do some pretty nasty things with red meat." It wasn't a total lie. Eating Human meat was nasty. The rest of the team bursts out laughing.

"I guess that's valid." Nishinoya says between outbursts of laughing. Once the team had all finished eating, we parted ways, but I stopped Sugawara.

"Sugawara!" I call out, stopping him. "Thank you."

"Like I said. It's no problem. You can call me any time." I smile at the sentiment. I haven't realized it before, but I'm getting more comfortable here. The possibility of someone finding me is starting to drift further back into my brain. I'm feeling lighter. I feel less of a burden to win since talking to Sugawara, and everything seems clearer now. I think that talking things through did help. I just have to hope that no one comes for me once I totally let my guard down.

A/N: Hello! I've been playing around with a few possible endings for a while now, so that is where the delay has been coming from, but I think I've decided on one. It wasn't what I was initially planning, but my initial plan of working through the whole series and then ending probably won't be too entertaining. So, the ending should be coming soon. Thank you to all who have read this far!

Sincerely,

EGGS
