Chapter 3- The Welcome Dinner

There comes a point in everyone's life when all of their karma catches upto them and slaps them in the face.
Why?
Cause karma is a bitch.

(No I'm not talking about my pet, Karma. Yes I have a dog named karma and yes she is the cutest cutie pie in the whole world)

After the meeting we all headed to the restaurant nearby. It's called "The fusion". The interior looked like someone had splashed thousands of colours onto the walls without any direction. The owner wanted to show how beautiful can a place look with mixed colours and hence mixed cuisines.
It was a popular joint for famous people as it had strict security and only few were allowed to enter.
Also the food was to die for.
(I'm pretty sure I would sacrifice myself for food.
Is that weird? I don't think so.)

As we headed towards our table Jungkook came upto me and started apologising for the thing that happened before. (Him asking for my number)
"Don't worry about it. I was a little nervous as it was my first time meeting you guys. Maybe that's why I looked really shocked."
"I'm sure you must be nervous. Everyone is in such a hurry."
"I know right."
As I sat down I felt something weird under me. Why is the cushion so weird. I look down to check what is going on.
And I come face to face with Taehyung.
WTF!!! I sat on his lap. SHITTTT!!
Why am I not moving?? Dumbass stand up and apologise. But I was frozen.
Finally he cleared his throat and said, "Are you going to keep sitting here? Is my lap that comfortable?"
And that brought me back to reality and I pushed myself upwards to stand.

"Omg I'm so sorry. I did not see before I sat. I was talking to Jungkook and I completely zoned out. I'm so so sorry."

"Hey its okay. It was a honest mistake. Don't worry about it." Taehyung tried to console me. He looked fairly flustered but tried to act cool.

I realised both of our faces were red by now. And everyone was staring at us and enjoying the drama. I quickly sat in another seat and started praying that I would combust in thin air. I kept thinking about how much bad can someone's luck be for this to happen to them.

"Okay guys. Let's not make her feel worse and enjoy this welcome dinner. Let's order!" Namjoon being an angel helped ease the awkwardness.

And well after that it went pretty smoothly I would say. No more embarrassing interactions.
I successfully avoided eye contact with Taehyung
through all of this. Him sitting next to me did not make it easier. But one thing I'm good at is ignoring someone's existence. So I did that.

As the mood lightened the guys started telling me about their tours and the tv shows they did. They told me how their lives are different than normal people. But how much they love performing and talking to fans. They also told me how they like to have weekly barbecues to chill and have fun. They even invited me to their next one. After the embarrassment went away, I actually started enjoying.

After the dinner was over, all I wanted to do was go back to my apartment. It was such an exhausting day mentally. I badly wanted to crawl up in my bed and sleep.
But life isn't that easy, is it?

As I started going out I heard someone call my name. It was Jimin telling me to not go out.
But I was already outside. And I realised how fucked I was. I saw thousands of clicks and flashes.
The paparazzi was here.
They wanted to see if they could find a kpop idol going on a date.
And then they saw an unknown girl coming out with a guy from the biggest kpop group in the world

They knew that they have hit jackpot.
