How exciting it must have been to plan our future together
But every second felt like agony to me
To have to agree with you

How could I let your happiness die and turn to worry?
The last thing I wanted you to do was worry about someone selfish and cruel
You were the best part of me
The only part of me I truly loved deeply
I didn't want to crush your dreams
I never wanted you to get so attached

But I know now it's my fault for staying around for so long
I couldn't believe me staying with you would bring you so much happiness
But I know me leaving now would hurt you deeply
I can only hope your hurt won't last forever
