Sarada lifted her heavy eyelids to complete darkness. The first word out of her mouth was Boruto's name. The second was... "Where am I?"

She closed her spinning eyes. She'd been in a boat, kissing him softly, her entire body tingling and filled with similar amounts of sadness and warmth. He told her he loved her, and she wanted to say it back more than anything, but then... A sharp object sent a sting and a wave of numb dizziness to her brain... And that was the last thing she remembered.

Sarada went to move her arms and winced. Her hands were bound tightly by a rope, squished behind her back, her shoulders stinging with a fierce ache. Her head felt as though it was stuffed full of wet feathers.

Several points of acute pain on her legs and back nipped at her tender skin every few seconds, throbbing like tiny scrapes and cuts. Her ankles were bound tight in a similar fashion with an uncomfortably itchy rope. Her toes were hugged together, her bangs weren't falling even when she hung her neck.

She slid her feet against the ground and couldn't feel the familiar sensation of cold under her heels. Were these... Shoes? And her hair...

Sarada's eyebrows furrowed.

Boruto was alone with her on the lake when she passed out. He was the only one who would think to give her shoes or pin back her hair. But Boruto... Boruto wouldn't tie her up... At least, she didn't want to believe that he would.

She sat up as best she could and peered through the darkness for other signs of life.

A smooth voice echoed off of cold and damp cave walls. "Awake, are we?"

Cold crept up Sarada's fingers, into her hands and arms, towards her chest. She didn't know the voice. But she had a feeling she knew what it wanted. "What happened to Boruto?"

"Ha," the being laughed as it came into view, tilting its pale head back, the look in its empty eyes crazed and malicious. "Your dear prince ran off to become king and left you behind."

Sarada wasn't very certain of life outside of her books, but she knew full well. That was a blatant lie. It was all their fault. Boruto didn't want either of those things, and he seemed like he would've given his life to prevent them.

"Where is he?"

"It's just like I said." The being stepped closer. "What, you don't believe me? If he didn't run off, wouldn't he be here, valiantly trying to save you?"

Sarada squinted in the dark. Boruto couldn't come save her... Or these men would use him to torture her. But he would've tried. They must've done something terrible to him. She narrowed her eyes, but knew she was in no position to fight.

"Starting to see things the way they really are?" The man sneered as he neared her. "No one is coming for you, little girl. You're my new pawn. And you will do as I say."

She had to stall for time and think of a plan. She wasn't giving up hope. Not this time. If only they'd get close enough to look at her, maybe she could escape. "Who are you?"

A second figure joined the first, this man lanky and tall. He stood to the right of the first man, one hand resting on his hip. "How laughable. She wants to know our names!"

"Hm. Our names don't matter to lesser beings."

"Don't be so stiff, Momoshiki! She'll find them out eventually anyway... We might as well introduce ourselves. I am Urashiki... And that," he said, pointing to a large white figure slumped down against the cave wall that Sarada could just barely make out in the dark. "That is Kinshiki. I think, what Momoshiki meant in his earlier sentence, was that you belong to us and you will do as we say."
