Julien was waiting for Gwen at the hotel restaurant, dreamy. He had spent the night trying to write but instead he couldn't stop thinking about Gwen. He remembered her desire, the tender kisses, the caresses, her smile, the carnal contacts they had exchanged. His heart began to beat faster when the young woman arrived, but he immediately saw that something was wrong. Gwen's face was closed. He didn't dare interrupt Gwen's thoughts but he still dared a shy "hello". Gwen returned the courtesy and began to speak. She told him that she wanted to find John and she thinks that going there, alongside her boyfriend, would help her a lot. Julien tried to feign a smile but every mention of John hurting him felt like a stab in the heart. Gwen must have noticed that Julien was taking the news badly because she stopped speaking for a few seconds. It is at this moment that Julien feels guilty and he adds "Good idea if you think it will allow you to regain your memory" while insisting that he be enthusiastic. But deep down, Julien wanted to shout "don't go, I love you. ". The waiter came to take the order that had arrived to break the heavy silence that had fallen upon Gwen's announcement. They both order their breakfast then Gwen leaves for a few minutes to go to the bathroom.

Julien takes out of his pocket the little notebook that followed him everywhere to take notes for his novel. He tears up a page then begins to write for the first time. He didn't like it so he tore up the page and took out another one. He did this several times before slipping the piece of paper into Gwen's bag before she returned a few minutes later. She had already checked her bags and her flight was an hour later. Gwen didn't take the time to eat, she drank her tea quickly then got up with a quick and cold "goodbye Julien, thank you for everything you did for me. This touches me greatly. I hope our paths will cross again one day. ". She got up and left without even looking back. Despite this, Julien thought he read sadness on Gwen's face when she got up to leave. Julien sat at the table for almost an hour wondering what to do. He booked his plane ticket to Lyon from his phone, paid the bill then headed to the boarding gate of his plane.

The flight was quick, it had only been six hours since Gwen left him and he was already feeling a loss. As if a part of him had vanished. He didn't want to talk to anyone so he took a taxi straight home. He arrives at his apartment then prepares himself a coffee, sits in front of his computer then opens the software in which he writes his novel. He sat there in front of the screen sipping his coffee for over an hour without any ideas coming to him, then he gave up. He turns on the television thinking it would help him think of something else. He comes across yet another rerun of "Friends." It was his favorite series, he knew it by heart. He let himself be carried away by the actors and began to laugh. After an hour, he abandons himself in the arms of Morpheus.

He wakes up almost five hours later, sweating because he was having a nightmare. He had imagined Gwen in the arms of his hunk and it had driven him crazy with jealousy. Deep down, he knew he had no right to be jealous because firstly, he had only spent one night together and secondly, she didn't even remember him anymore. In order to fully wake up, he went to take a shower after turning on the music to give himself energy. He left my music selection on shuffle when Coldplay's "Fix You" started blaring through his small apartment. He loved this song because it made him think of what Gwen had done for him. He was broken before I met him. He led a bland, uninteresting and loveless life. Today, he was living his dreams even though he never thought he would have the courage to do so one day. He cursed under the shower because, despite all his efforts, he couldn't get the young woman out of his head. He kept telling himself "It's over, forget it. She's going to live happily with John and she doesn't need you anymore." With the music and the shower, he didn't hear his phone ringing until the battery died.
