We open up with a recap of the episodes "The lost princess" and "The unnamed one" before beginning the story proper with Evil-lyn entering the bridge of the Horde mothership now decked out in dragon-themed armor with a Horde insignia on her chest and a long flowing space cape. Hordak then tells her "Welcome back, daughter. shame to hear your defeat at the hands of the masters of the universe" Skelehorde then looks at Lyn and growls, Evil-lyn asking "Is that Skeletor?" Hordak tells her "Your old boss is now a loyal servant of the horde, his mind enslaved by the power of havoc" Evil-lyn laughs evilly, saying "oh Skeletor, once dark master of Havoc now a slave to it just as I, Kronis, and R'Qazz were under your command. so how does it feel being in our shoes now? a fitting punishment for one obsessed with control I reckon" Hordak then tells her "he can't really feel anything right now, nor can he hear you" Despara then enters the bridge and is confused by the sight of Evil-lyn, asking Hordak "Who is this woman?" making Hordak snort. Hordak then says "It seems you haven't met yet. Despara, this is my daughter Evelyn" Despara gets mad, exclaiming "Daughter? I thought I was your daughter!" Hordak then tells her "you may be my adopted daughter but Lyn here is my blood" Despara unsheathes her swords and lunges at Lyn only for Skelehorde's cybernetic arm to transform into a blade to parry her attack, Hordak telling him "Skelehorde, let my chief assassin know her place" Skelehorde's cybernetic hand transforms into a ram skull-shaped cannon blasting Despara knocking her on her rear making Evil-lyn scoff. we then cut back to Eternia where we see the replacement master (plus Moss-man and Zodac) flying through blockades of Horde ships Granamyr destroying several ships with her fire breath, Stonedar leaping onto one ship and smashing it apart with a stone quake while Moss-Man rips one apart with his vine tendrils. Krass, Dash-shel, Tuvar, and Baddrah power up with the power of Grayskull to join in on the action, the team leaping off the old lady dragon's back taking out several Horde ships in midair, Dash-shel saying "are you sure this is a good idea?" Krass tells him "sure it will, I picked this strategy up from Adam" as she rams through several horde ships with her ram-ball while Ork-O blasts several ships with his magic. meanwhile on the ground we see royal guards holding the line as they fight off the horde bots, meanwhile a terrified Justine is running from horde bots only for the horde bot chasing her to be impaled on the pike of a royal guard, which turns out to be the Tri-klops possessing a royal guard with Justine thanking Tri-klops for saving her life. King Randor watches the battle below from a balcony, Man-E-Faces showing up to stand by Randor's side asking the king "was I late to the party? I was hoping to deliver a grand performance" King Randor then tells him "No Manny, you're just in time" Man-E smirks before leaping off the balcony switching to his monster persona to bash some horde bot heads. Stratos and the heroic warriors also show up to join in the fight, with Mosquitara draining horde bots of their energy while Webstor webs several up. Gary the dragonfly gobbles several up in his massive maw while Stratos spins his cybernetic wings to create a cyclone sending several horde bots flying, Stratos exclaiming "the evil Horde is no match for the awesomeness of Stratos and his heroic warriors!" as the four do a hero pose with confetti in the background. we then see the replacement masters (plus Ork-O) land just in time to crash through waves of Horde bots on their way to the royal palace King Randor and the other characters rejoicing (including Cringer's nephew Kitty who chews on the severed head of a horde bot). our heroes enter the royal palace where Krass informs King Randor that Adam has been captured, saying that they need to go help him. Randor then tells her "sorry but there's nothing I can do, there's no way for us to get into space" Zodac then teleports into the palace on his floating chair to tell our heroes "I can help with that" snapping his fingers strapping the replacement masters (along with Ork-O and King Randor) into floating chairs with Zodac saying "all hands in the chairs at all times" as they teleport into space winding up aboard the Starship Eternia much to the shock of Teela, Duncan and Cringer (who are back in their base forms), along with Queen Marlena. Ork-O hugs both Teela and Duncan happy to see them again while Krass hugs Cringer, Cringer apologizing to Krass for not being able to save Adam. Krass introduces her teammates Sy-Klone, Stonedar, and Two-bad with Sy-Klone and Two-bad detransforming back into Dash-shel, Tuvar, and Baddrah. meanwhile King Randor is stunned to see Marlena after so many years, whispering "Marlena? is that really you?" Marlena is just as stunned, whispering "Randor?" in response as the two slowly approach each other before finally embracing with Randor telling Marlena "I thought I lost you forever" while Zodac smiles watching their happy reunion which makes Duncan cry, Ork-O making the funny remark "If I had tear ducts I'd be crying right now" Marlena tells Randor "there's something else I need to tell you, I found our daughter" Randor exclaims "Adora is alive?" Marlena then tells him "she is, but she's been brainwashed by Hordak. Adam sacrificed himself to save me from that tyrant, I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for him" Krass asks Zodac why they're just sitting here and not kicking horde butt and rescuing Adam, Teela putting her hand on Krass's shoulder telling her that it's not that simple. Zodac explains to our heroes that Adam's trapped in the dimension of Despondos, the same dimension the horde was trapped inside for the past few thousand years. this makes Krass upset, however Queen Marlena informs her that if they get the cosmic key back from Hordak, they can use it to get Adam out. Cringer then gives a rousing speech to the other masters telling them that until then they'll fight off Hordak's forces in his honor, saying that Adam's sacrifice will not be in vain, with Teela, Duncan, Cringer, Krass, Stonedar, Dash-shel, Tuvar, and Baddrah all putting their hands together and exclaiming "by the power of Grayskull... we have the power!" causing a giant gold lightning bolt to come down from the ceiling to strike our heroes. we then cut to the Starship Eternia ramming into the Horde mothership with the powered-up masters bursting out of the jawbridge: Sorceress, Man-at-arms, Battle cat, Ram Ma'am, Sy-Klone, Stonedar, and Two-Bad who all storm through the hallways of the mothership only for them to be cornered by the hordesmen Mantenna, Wrap Trap, Grizzlor, Modulok and Leech who are all shocked to find out that they're outnumbered. the masters proceed to combine their attacks to take down the Hordesmen one-by-one: Teela and Duncan combine their attacks for a Wings of Zoar master strike to take out Leech, Cringer and Krass perform a new combo master strike "Chain blades" to take out Grizzlor, Sy-Klone and Stonedar perform their combo strike "Quake-nado" to take out Mantenna, and Two-bad combine their axes to perform an Obsidian strike taking out Modulok, and Ork-O uses magic spells to take out Wrap Trap using some potion capsules he took from the Unnamed one's destroyed spell shooter. the masters then toss the unconscious Hordesmen one-by-one into cells, Duncan saying "there, that'll hold 'em for now" Teela saying "come on masters, we need to get the cosmic key and rescue Adam" Evil-lyn watches this from the orb of witchcraft, informing Hordak that the masters have doubled in size and are coming to rescue their precious Adam. Hordak snorts, telling Lyn "Let them come, their efforts are futile anyway. Skelehorde will take care of them" with Skelehorde walking towards the door while Despara watches as she uses her swords to pick herself back up. The masters enter the bridge only for them to be greeted by Skelehorde much to their surprise, Krass exclaiming "Is that Skeletor?" Teela tells Krass "Not the one we're used to, Keldor's mind is now completely under the influence of Havoc" the masters all attack Skelehorde and are swatted away like flies, meanwhile Teela/Sorceress flies toward Hordak shouting "Give Adam back!" as she flies toward Hordak firing a magic blast from her staff only for Evil-lyn to protect Hordak by blocking her attacks with a shield spell. Teela then says "Evelyn, not so happy to see you again. so you're helping Hordak now?" Lyn chuckles and tells her "The things I do for family" Teela gets into battle stance and tells her "You better tell daddy dearest to hand over the cosmic key and release Adam, or I'll have to rearrange those bat wings of his" Hordak snorts, telling her "It's too late to save your precious He-man, sorceress. for I have destroyed the cosmic key meaning that there is no way out!" as Hordak spreads his wings summoning a giant swarm of tiny bats that emerge from his space-wings to overwhelm Teela reverting her back into base form followed by the other masters being enveloped by the swarm of bats after being pummeled by Skelehorde reverting them back into their base forms. Hordak chuckles saying "your fear tasted oh-so-good, as a cosmic vampire and living embodiment of terror, fear is what feeds me! it makes me stronger!" as Despara watches in horror of seeing the true power of Hordak. we then cut to Adam waking up in a dark black empty void and without his sword, Adam asking "Where am I? last thing I remember was Hordak getting the cosmic key and getting sucked into a portal" Adam then hears a voice in the void say "You are in the dimension of Despondos, an empty void of endless darkness. back in my day the cosmic enforcers designed this place to be an eternal prison for the evil horde, so that no other planet will endure the wrath of the cosmic vampire Hordak" Adam recognizes this voice as the same one he heard of the ghost he encountered in the cave back in season 3, and turns around to see none other than the ghost of King Grayskull standing before him much to Adam's shock ending our episode on a cliffhanger.
