Robbed

Violence of the body, violation of the soul

Broken by a cruel and vile act

The scars run deep, hidden inside

The wounds not seen by the naked eye

Memories that haunt and torment

The pain not lessened with time

The burden of shame and guilt

Weighed heavily on the heart and mind

The damage can't be undone

Your fist slams into my mouth, my teeth clack against your knuckles - this will teach me to shut up.

A silent cry for help, a scream

Never heard, a voice unheard.

A broken soul, a shattered dream,

Wishing to feel whole again.

A struggle to cope, a desire for comfort,

Looking for relief from the pain.

The memories of the onslaught,

A constant reminder of what was lost.
