Yunho stopped his motorcycle in front of the shop.
"Where else?"
There was no other place in his mind where Mingi might be right now.
Unless Mingi had gotten lost in a church again, but he wasn’t religious enough to remember God at the moment. "Sometimes when disaster strikes, alcohol is far easier to remember than God," Yunho muttered as he removed his black helmet. The terrible accident that nearly separated him from the world’s mortality didn’t make him feel like he should stop indulging in riding his motorcycle.
“Right?” he mumbled as he found a drunk man sleeping at one of the shop’s tables. His face was down, and his body was covered with Mingi’s favorite long white coat.
“Hey, you’re the one from before, right?” A beautiful waitress named Yeosang recognized Yunho. Yunho smiled politely.
“I’ll take him home. You don’t need to worry,” Yunho said casually, trying to be a bit more friendly. He wasn’t really someone who easily mingled with others.
Yeosang looked at him with slight confusion, then ignored him and walked towards the kitchen.
Yunho didn’t pay attention to Yeosang’s reaction. Yunho’s unique eyebrows met. Frowning, making his face look mature with a hint of bewilderment. “Mingi, why did you go get drunk alone?” He first sat next to Mingi, looking at the empty soju bottles. “Wouldn’t it be more fun if someone was with you?” He spoke to himself. He wanted to play around with his Mingi. He couldn’t do that if Mingi were conscious.
“Shall I have a little drink too? Do you mind?” He took the small glass of soju with a bit of the intoxicating liquid left. Sipping it slowly. “Why do you always make decisions on your own, hmm?” He now swirled the clear glass, just like Mingi did a few nights ago.
“At least I can talk to you. You don’t have to care about my opinion; I just want to be part of your increasingly lonely life. Oh yes, Seonghwa hyung has made up with Hongjoong hyung. Does that mean you’ll be coming back?” He glanced at the drunk man sleeping beside him. He then smiled. “Are we spending the night at the studio again? Like the night before yesterday?” He chuckled, feeling embarrassed as he remembered that night.
His laughter was swallowed by the roar of vehicles. “Maybe this is my role in your life; the man who keeps you company when you’re drunk, satisfies you when you’re unaware of what you’re doing.” His hand moved to wipe a bit of moisture from the corner of his unique eyes.
Then he smiled again, until those eyes narrowed in a way that was... not strange, but unusual.
“Let’s go.” He hesitated to wake his leader. But slowly, he lifted the man’s body.
“Y-you... w-what...?” The drunk man, whom Yunho didn’t recognize, said. Yunho, shocked, dropped the man back onto the table. And,
Thud!
The man landed roughly back onto the wooden bench. “What are you doing?!”
Yunho was too surprised to answer. “Who are you? And... that jacket?” He backed away from the angry pointing finger of the slightly skinny man.
“Yunho?” A voice that Yunho recognized.
“Mingi?!” He said loudly, sounding relieved. He turned around and found a pair of oriental eyes that he had been searching for all night. He rushed towards Mingi, who was carrying a small plastic shopping bag from a nearby convenience store.
“What are you doing here?”
Yunho didn’t care. The rustling sound and their bodies brushing against each other.
No other sound except that.
Even the pretty man beside Mingi remained silent, watching the scene.
