She knew what to do. How to redeem herself.
The next morning they went to the mall to get clothes for abu. He had made sure that his team took care of the paps and the crowd.
They picked up a nice dress for her and mani was about to go to the billing counter.
"Give it to me..." he took it from her hand.
"Get something for yourself for the evening....our friends are coming....and it's my baby's birthday party....so....get something....we will do the billing later..."
She shook her head.
"What?" he raised his brows.
"I have new clothes...I don't need anything else..." She replied
Strange. She used to be always excited about buying clothes. Even if she had thousands of outfits shopping never tired her.
"Okay..." he shrugged and went to the counter and paid for Abu's clothes and they drove back home.
Manisha decorated their house and their friends and her school friends came to celebrate Abu's birthday.
They had fun and had food and played games with Abu. The evening passed quickly and soon people had started to leave after dinner till the house was empty.
Mani put abu to sleep and came outside in the lounge to see abhi sitting on the couch and watching TV.
"Abhishek.." she said slowly and went to him and sat on the couch maintaining some distance from him.
"Hmm?" he hummed not looking away from the screen.
"I wanted to discuss something..."
"Yeah..." he switched off the TV and looked at her.
"It's serious...about our future and I want us to handle this maturely...."she said slowly.
He nodded gesturing her to continue.
"We are not a normal family...Abhisha is growing up...now she is too young to understand things but soon she will..she will ask us why we are not like the parents of her friends..." she said sincerely.
He nodded. He knew that she was making sense.
"Don't you think it is better if she gets a perfect family....happy parents?" She paused and seeing his blank look she immediately continued.
"No..don't think I am talking about us.. I am suggesting you move on....we can opt for a divorce and you get Abu's custody...mutual decision....is it okay with you?" she asked hoping he would refuse.
He just nodded. He lied. He knew he could never do that but something made him nod. He knew she wanted him to refuse. Her eyes pleaded with him to refuse and all he wanted to do was the opposite.
"Ohh..great then..." she gulped without making it too evident in front of him.
"She is too young to remember everything about me....if she gets a new mom she will grow attached to her....Abu's age is delicate that way.... will you take care of the divorce?" He nodded again.
"I just want one thing from you...." she looked at him hopefully.
"Yup..say..." he whispered.
"Promise me you will give me what I want...." she said fighting her tears.
"I promise..." he said without thinking.
"When she grows up please don't let her know what had happened in the past....if she comes to know that I kept her away from you she will hate me...I won't be here that's true but still.... I don't want her to hate me...." she said with a choked voice. Finally here self control gave in.
