Chapter ~ 20

"Abhiiiii..." she patted his cheeks softly. Panick slowly creeped into her system.

"Ummmm..." she heard him say but he didn't open his eyes. He was subconscious.

"Shit..ab kya karuuu...." she gulped and shook him softly.

"Mmmmm..." came his almost inaudible mumbling.

Mani quickly wrapped her arms around his shoulder and held his hand to make him stand and immediately realised that it would be impossible for her to make this 6'3" stand alone and take him to the room.

"Doctor aunty...." she muttered and rushed out of the door and rang their neighbour's bell frantically.

After a couple minutes a man in his early twenties opened the door.

"Mani bhabiii..is that really you..?" his sleepy eyes were replaced with the happiness of seeing his favourite sister in law after years.

"Uncle.. aunty...dono kaha hai.. I'll explain everything to you..but later....where is aunty?can you please call her.... I wouldn't have disturbed you guys this late but abhishek has high fever and is almost unconscious....and I am not even able to take him inside.... please call uncle..and can you please come with me to help...." she fumbled through her words.

"Bhabi relax.... I will call them and will come right away.... you go and be with abhi bhai..."

Mani nodded and ran back into their apartment.

"Abhi.. please open your eyes..." she sat beside him and held his hand and rubbed his palm. She didn't even know when tears had started to drip along her cheeks.

Within a few minutes their neighbour couple came inside with their son. The lady was a doctor and  they were very dear to abhi and mani. Both the man held abhi and took him inside the room and made him lay down on the bed beside abu. Abhisha had woken up in the commotion.

"Daddaaa...." she frowned seeing him.

Mani looked at them to find the mstaring at abu with love and affection.

"I'll explain everything...I..I am..she is..." Mani said slowly and nervously.

The lady sat beside abhi to check on him.

"Mani beta..this.. this is his stomach flu....he had it last year also twice..so I know his medical history and symptoms of this fever and how he reacts to it....and fever comes when the stomach pain becomes worse.... we need to start the medication immediately.." the lady informed her about his this condition

"Aunty we had pizza and butter paneer today....he had pizza yesterday also..." she said iexasperation.

"Fever doesn't come in one day beta....he had stomach pain for a couple of days at least and over that he had junk.." mani looked at the ceiling in fear as more tears came down her cheeks.

"Mani bhabi..ap relax ho jao..bhai will be fine..." Rohan patted her shoulder.

"I'll bring the medicines...." she somehow managed to say in herchoked voice.

"You stay here..he needs you..and this princess is also alone here..rohan will bring it.." uncle said strictly and went out.

"Mani after the medicine put a wet cloth on his forehead..it will reducethe temperature...." aunty said and caressed his hair.

"Aunty he is not fully conscious.. when will he.." she said slowly.

"Once the fever is down he will be.." aunty said softly. "don't worry beta..."

Uncle and Rohan came back with the medicines and mani immediately made him have those carefully putting his head a little up.

"uncle..aunty..rohan thank you so much for coming....you guys take rest.. if anything needed I will call you.. and I promise I'll explain everything after he gets well..." she hugged aunty

"Bring the little princess to our home soon okay? we are so happy we got a little play buddy..." aunty caressed her hair without asking her any questions and making her uncomfortable at this moment and they left.

Abu had also fallen asleep again beside her dadda. She was too small to understand that her father was not well. She thought that he was sleeping.

Mani sat beside him near his head with a bowl of water and a cloth and kept putting the wet cloth on his forehead.

It was probably a little more than fifteen minutes that she was sitting there. He was moving his head very slightly shaking it from time to time in his subconscious state.

She caressed his hair to soothe his discomfort and kept putting the clothon his forehead.

"Manishaaa.." he muttered and she bent down.

"haan?" she said immediately

"I love you..more than anything.. I swear to our daughter.. I only love you.. I always do.. please trust me.. don't you know me.. don't you trust me.. don't you love me.." he muttered very slowly and gradually tears comes out from his eyes

"I do.. I do abhi.. I too love you.." the only words she said that time with her eyes filled with tears abhi opened his eyes and caressed her cheeks

"I only love you okay.." abhi said and after that she did the thing she wanted to do from the day she met him but also she knows he's in his subconscious state he might not remember any of this but at that moment she wanted to.

"I know you'll not remember this tomorrow but I don't care about anything now." She kissed him on his lips and he kissed her back with the same urge.
