Chapter 2

Kageyama's POV - a few minutes earlier

"And how's that any different from last year?" I taunted. Not the same as last year, he said. Heh. I'm not the same as I was last year either. I watched as he grew more tense with dedication and seriousness in his eyes. Seems like he's not gonna give up.

"They don't listen to their captain, How troublesome..." I heard the dean say. I couldn't care less though, all my attention was focused on Hinata... and I was making sure he wasn't gonna receive this serve.

I tossed the ball, following it with a powerful spike. Oh, that felt nice. I panicked for a moment when he went from the other side of the court to try and receive the ball. Damn, I want those reflexes. As expected though, he didn't get it.

What happened next though... Um... The ball went flying to the dean's face then his wig got blown away....... To Sawamura-san's head....

Okay but he was wearing a wig?? I thought he just had bad bedhair. I broke the silence and asked, "He was wearing a wig?"

"You just noticed? Everyone at the entrance ceremony could tell" Hinata replied, stifling a laugh.

"pfft- you guys! Shut up- BWHAHAHAH"

"Tanaka, you shut up, too!"

"Wait, where's the ball?" Everyone got silent.

"Watch out-!" Tanaka-san tried to warn. I turned around to see what was going on. I was shocked and tried to save the poor student. But it was too late, and even I panicked a little when I thought the ball was gonna hit the person.

However, Seconds later, the ball was sent back to the court with a powerful spike. I watched in awe as I turned to look at the person but then...

"Y..Y/-Y/N!?"

Third person POV

Kageyama was beyond shocked. Never in a million years would he have expected to see his first friend in Karasuno, much less because of a stray volleyball that was about to hit her. They locked eyes for a moment.

Just then, Y/n had a flashback of what she saw this morning. There's definitely no mistake now, it really was her childhood friend! They are now face to face, 6 meters away. They have reunited. This isn't a dream!

While Y/n was deep in thoughts, unsurprisingly, Hinata was the first to break the ice. "Y/n-san! That was so cool! Do you play volleyball too!? I didn't know that!" While Hinata was fawning over Y/n, the dean spoke.

"Sawamura-kun, I'd like a word with you." The captain and the principal exited the gym with glum looks.

Tanaka and Sugawara then shared a look and asked,

"Wait, did you say Y/n? Are you... Y/n L/n?" Sugawara turned to her.

Tobio was confused. How come everyone knows who his bestest friend is? And why hasn't she said anything to him yet? Has she forgotten about him? And she plays volleyball now???

I guess you could call him quite the overthinker. But while Y/n, Hinata, Sugawara, and Tanaka were chatting, Kageyama called.

"Y/n."

That was all she needed to hear. One word from her most favorite person. One word has already got her wrapped around his finger. As long as it's him calling out her name.

The four of them quieted down, and Y/n smiled. She turned around and walked towards Kageyama with a closed eye grin.

"Tobio."

They chuckled then embraced almost immediately.

Hinata, Sugawara, and Tanaka were confused. Who wouldn't be after seeing people who you thought were complete strangers to each other embrace and be emotional right in front of your eyes?
