Long Time No See

April 2021

"Do I look too slutty?" My best friend Sabrina asks standing in front of my bedroom mirror. We were getting ready to go out to a new bar on sunset.

"Not slutty enough," I laugh, she was wearing a red top with the word 'Loyal' in gold across it, and some blue jeans. She looked like a goddess.

I walked over beside her and examined my own outfit, which consisted of a lacy black tank top, a blue jean mini skirt, black knee high boots, and some gold jewelry for some shine. This is the first time I've been out in a while and I felt a little self-conscious.

"Ugh, fine. I'll put on the red skirt instead." She huffed walking over to my closet that of course she had her own section in. "So, are you excited for tonight? I bet there will be plenty of guys who are going to be begging for you there!"

I just shrugged. I didn't really want to be involved with anyone at the moment, especially after "him" who ended it six months ago. "You know, I don't think I'm gonna go home with anyone tonight. I'm just going to have fun!" I say with little to no enthusiasm. Sabrina frowned, I know she was doing the best she could to get my mind off of him but it wasn't working no matter how hard she tried.

She then started to walk over to comfort me. "Layla, you need to know that there will be other guys, and that you don't need him. He was probably just too scared because he knows how much of a heartstopper you are. His little brain couldn't take a goddess like you."

"Thanks S." I smiled

"Anytime Lay, now let's get going. We have a party to get to!" she danced, and we started to make our way to my front door. "Also, how long has it been since you have last done it?"

Embarrassed, I put my head in my palms, "Seven months."

"SEVEN?!"

We walked into the bar that was filled to the brim with very drunk adults, and college students most likely not of legal age to drink, an experience I somehow forgot. Pushing through the crowds of dancing people we spotted a table to sit at. As we sat down we let out big huffs because of all the energy we had to put out just to get in the bar.

"Jeez, I guess everyone likes it here." I announced

"Apparently." Sabrina laughed, "Hey I'm gonna go grab a drink, you want one?"

"Not right now." I smiled and she walked towards the bartender. I wanted to scope out the place before I decided to get absolutely hammered, since it's been a while. I looked at all the people laughing and having a good time, no cares in the world. I think that's the beauty of LA. Nobody really gives a shit about how you act, well unless you're somebody of a huge following. But even then everybody knows celebrities roam most of the streets in California, so there's not really a lot of fans walking up to you. It's only the terrible paparazzi.
