"But the evil is necessary!"

"Won't you please spare me indignity..?"

[Name] rubbed the boy's back as he coughed into his fist, shifting her gaze to Rachel and Vincent, giving them  a look of uncertainty. Ciel stared with a small frown.

Rachel placed her hand on the boy's forehead, her concerned expression increasing in worry. "Your fever is slight but your cough is dreadful." Rachel said, a soft frown curling down on her face.

"Looks like we'll have to cancel the boat trip." Rachel sighed out, deepening [Name]'s frown, her brows creasing as she lowered her gaze to the ill boy. "We can go another time, dear." The boy pressed his lips together, his head lightly hanging in what seemed to be shame.

"I'll be fine, so the rest of you should go without me." The boy peeped out, his brows dipping inwards, taking on an upset expression. [Name] grew more concerned, "But Sidus, are you certain?" She whispered, running her fingers through the back of his hair. The boy nodded, raising his gaze to Rachel, "Mother, you're finally feeling well again. I don't want you to miss this chance because of me!"

'What an altruistic child.' [Name] thought after a bit of silence, a small smile growing on her lips, moving onto her knees from her crouched position. "But.." Rachel started, her face contorting into one of uncertainty.

"I have Tanaka and Aunt [Nickname] here with me, so I'll be fine. I'll be a good boy and wait here." The boy said, giving his mother a bright reassuring smile. "So please..."

Ciel fiddled with his shirt, a small frown on his lips as he stepped forward to his brother. "...Alright. Then we'll make sure to bring lots of souvenirs back for you! We'll bring back tons of flowers and mountains of pretty rocks!" Ciel exclaimed, his frown curling up into the brightest of smiles.

His younger brother smiled, the heavy feeling of guilt being relieved from his shoulders as his smile softened. "Okay!" He said. Vincent turned to Tanaka, the head butler of the Phantomhive house, with a solemn gaze.

"Tanaka, please take care of him." He said, [Name] bringing the youngest child in her arms in the form of a snug embrace from behind while Vincent spoke to Tanaka, receiving a startled gasp from the ill boy.

"You precious thing." She said to the child, pressing a kiss on his hair, hearing his giggles soothe her nerves. She turned to Ciel, "Take care of your mother for me, dear. And make sure your father doesn't tip the boat over." She teased, gently pinching Ciel's cheek, who gave her a curt nod with a smile.

[Name] smiled back at Ciel while he walked back to Rachel and Vincent, standing up with the ill boy in her arms and setting him down on his chaise settee at the foot of his bed. After the couple and Ciel left, Tanaka kneeled down in front of the young boy, taking his smaller hands in his gloved one, [Name] watching with a smile.

"Young master, your show of consideration for everyone earlier was magnificent. This old man doesn't have the slightest doubt that you will become a wonderful and kindhearted gentleman in the future." Tanaka said, offering the boy a gentle smile, which brought tears in the boy's eyes. [Name] reached forward, wiping the boy's tears with her gloved thumb.

"Gramps.." The boy softly cried, his bottom lip quivering, warming [Name]'s heart, allowing her to wipe more tears from his face. "As a reward for your gentlemanly actions, you may have whatever you'd like for today's afternoon tea." Tanaka said, standing up with [Name]'s help as she held out her hand.

The boy's face brightened, hopping off his seat and wrapping his arms around Tanaka with [Name] follow beside the boy. "Well, I think I would like some chocolate cake. Also, I want to play chess, with you and Aunt [Nickname]!" The boy excitedly said, giving the old man and the woman a bright smile.
