As much as he wanted to find Meredith, finding her was going to be hard. He couldn't stop trying to find out who the first man was. For some reason, the police couldn't even get a facial ID on him and there were no fingerprints. It looked kind of dull trying to find out who he was. He spent most of the day in Robbie's study, just staring at the picture of the man. He was so focused on the screen that he hadn't heard Annie walk in.
"Hey, you should get some fresh air. You have been here since last night. Did you even get any sleep?"
He shakes his head, "This man walks into this house with no mask, but he wears gloves. Either he didn't know you had the camera, or he just didn't care. I don't know which one pisses me off more."
She sat on the corner of the desk, "staring at his face is definitely not going to give you a name." She takes a finger and traces his shoulder.
He jolts back, "Annie, what are you doing? You-you can't-you are her sister."
"Oh, c'mon. You know you're lonely. It's sad not having her around. Why don't we be sad and lonely...together?"
What the hell was happening?
"Annie, we cannot." He stood up, but as he did, she got in front of him.
There was very little space between them, causing him to try backing away. That failed as he backed into a wall, biting his lip. He looked at her, the calming green in her eyes gazing at him. He swore in his head, hoping she would realize how wrong this was. Maybe she'd realize how this would make her a bad sister. Who was this person? This isn't the Annie he knew.
All of a sudden, her lips were mere inches away from touching his. His heart began racing in his chest, his breathing sped up, hot fumes leaving his nose. He turned his head to the side, but she pushed it back to look at him. She held his face in place, and then she did it.
Annie kissed him. But, he didn't feel so bad about it. He looked at her with wide eyes, his face ridden with shock. Then he felt the pain in his knee, but he could tell it came from the bond. The bastard just either hit her knee, or dropped her on the ground.
"See, it wasn't bad. We can get our lonely fixes together. I hate saying it, but maybe we won't find her. She could, God forbid, be dead... Who knows. So, why feel guilty? She'll be mad if she finds out, but she can only find out if she's found."
What did she just say? What is happening?!
It had only been a couple of days and she was already giving in? Was it really loneliness or was it jealousy? Was she scared that she was 27 with no lover, but her 21-year-old sister had a mate? Where was this coming from? He didn't pull away, was he any better? He noted that he even thought about taking her up on the option.
He didn't move from his place, staring at her all nervous. He wanted to walk away, he wanted to go back to his home. He also wanted to see what happened. He was lonely, he needed to get rid of some of his emotions. He takes a hand and places it on her cheek, kissing her once more. He didn't hate it, and he hated that.
"I-uh-I need to think. She's my mate. I-I can't decide-"
Annie kissed him again, but she kept doing so. All of a sudden, he found himself kissing her back. He liked it. He was a bad person now. He couldn't believe he was doing this, but he was also so relieved to get rid of some of his tension.
———————————— an hour later—--------------------------------------------
He went into Robbie's bedroom, changing into new sweatpants. If Meredith ever got found, he couldn't tell her about this. He told Annie that this could never happen again. He told himself that he would never do that to himself again. He felt like he should've broken the bond, but he couldn't.
He called one of his wolf friends, needing to ask for advice. He needed to know if he should break the bond or not. He needed to know if he should break it and then disappear from their life. He felt so guilty. He honestly wanted to cry. He knew that he willingly got into bed with her, but he still felt like he got taken advantage of. Even if he liked it at some point.
"Hey Noah, what's up?"
"Hi buddy, I need to get something off my chest. I need help."
He explained everything, his voice breaking every now and then. By the time he finished explaining, he was crying, which was quite embarrassing. He felt so damned awful, he wanted to just cry the rest of the night. Disappear forever, never show himself to her ever again.
"Honestly, I wouldn't break it. You need some way to know that she's still alive. You break that bond, you will stop feeling any of the body sensors. If she finds out, which I believe you should tell her the truth, she'll probably break the bond. I know you're not together, but she's going to be offended. That's her sister, dude."
"That's true. I do need some hope that she's alive. Thanks man." he sighed loudly. " I cannot believe it happened."
"You said that you said no, multiple times, right?"
"Exactly. I mean, it felt good, because...you know..., but still."
"Who made the move to get in bed?"
"She did. She kissed me again, but she continued." He ducked his head, as if his friend could see his embarrassment.
There was a long pause on the other end, which made him even more nervous. Was it going to happen again? How would he handle the days with Annie? How would he behave when he found Meredith? Does he tell Meredith when she gets back? He was so screwed and he hated it. He deserves whatever he gets, honestly.
"Well, Noah, you're probably gonna stay single for a long while. I mean, let's say you find her, she's going to court. If she finds out before or during trial, they will ask you about it. They could even try to use it against you. If you tell her after the trial, you still risk a lot. Tell her after the trial is over, don't break her heart before she finds out if the man goes away for a while."
His friend was right, yet again, and that made him feel more dread. What if the court tried using it against us? What if they tried blaming him for her kidnapping? What if they tried going after Annie? It would look like he got rid of Meredith, to have Annie.
Fuck.
