Part 1: Tiger Jiang Cheng

Unlike other Sects before them, on the first day of the Year of the Tiger, Yunmeng was not looking very festive, even despite having two high ranking tigers amongst them. While the Jin's often celebrated in grandiose style, Jiang Cheng was feeling way too concerned to do anything of the sort. He didn't want to put a damper on Jin Ling's celebration however so he had sent his nephew to the other side of his family's to be pampered by the Jins, while he tackled the problem of housing two unlucky Tigers for the year.

Two or so hours later he was still sitting on the Lotus throne considering the best solution when older brother arrived, sauntering into the room in a comfortable manner, bubbling with excitement as he threw his hands up in the air penetrating the silence,

"A'Cheng congrats, it's your year! How is my little tiger~?" he said practically cooing at his overly serious younger brother.

Jiang Cheng blinked, having only become distracted upon hearing the Wei speak. He frowned at the little tiger remark, but wisely chose not to comment, for he knew quite well that if he did he would for sure receive a worse nickname than little Tiger and Wei Wuxian would still seriously count it as a term of endearment. So instead of engaging in a futile pastime he decided to continue the conversation at hand,

"Not great," Jiang Cheng admitted leaning his head back against the throne as he explained, "Fate has now turned to pay attention to A'Ling and I, and let's face it when fate shows me attention it's always bad. The only way to avoid a bad fate is to receive red clothes from a family member or significant other, and even if I could get that I have an aversion to red thanks to a certain SOMEONE."

Of course the last statement was decidedly focused on Wei Wuxian, emphasized by Jiang Cheng lifting his head up again and staring at his elder brother pointedly. But of course, whether he noticed this not-so-subtle hint or not, Wei Wuxian's comment was deflected from him and any culpability with his response, as he nodded in a knowing manner and stated,

"Wen Chao."

Jiang Cheng, who was not expecting this answer, but found that he couldn't exactly disagree with the statement shook his head lightly before correcting the other,

"... Wrong, but also another good reason not to."

In fact, if he thought about it most people he'd see wear red were the most problematic to him, outside of some outliers. But of course during an inauspicious year beggars couldn't be choosers, and both he and his nephew were going to need all of the luck they could get.

"But of course it must be done for this year. At least as his guardian I can give Jin Ling red clothes. As long as he's protected from the fall out of mine I'll be assured." Jiang Cheng said aloud, more to himself than to his brother.
