Rabbit / Cat Characters : Jiang Yanli, Lan Zhan, Lan Sizhui (Wen Yuan).

Summary: Jiang Cheng gets roped into throwing a banquet / party in honor of the Rabbit-Cat main sect members due to his sister missing home. Jin Ling learns the history of the Cat's Zodiac situation and why it is sometimes included and sometimes not. Other chaos ensues, but despite the craziness Jiang Yanli is greatful for a miraculous Lunar New Year.

Part 1:

The first day of the Lunar New Year of the Rabbit / Cat started in a rather lively way due who the Rabbit / Cats were. Considering Wei Wuxian's relationship with the Jiang and Lan families, and the ties to most of the major sects through one person or another it was decided that the festivities would be held at Yunmeng and anyone who wanted to join would be allowed.

Jiang Cheng was not sure how such a thing happened, considering there was only one Rabbit-Cat that lived with them and double the amount for the Lan Sect, but his younger brother insisted that no parties should ever be held in Gusu if one wanted food or fun. Jiang Cheng had tried to counter this argument commenting that Gusu had an army of Rabbits to begin with so it would honestly be the most in theme.

Quite frankly Jiang Cheng couldn't disagree about the food, but he had basically wanted to show up, celebrate shortly, and then run away to his own sect afterward, particularly if there was any major drama. But Yanli, whose year it was amongst the Jiangs, had gently commented that she missed Yunmeng since her Jin marriage and wished to be able to visit again, especially since her son Jin Ling had pretty much moved in by that point to avoid "his nagging father and grandfather." Feeling guilty as he had allowed his nephew to pretty much move in, and because he could withhold nothing when it came to his sister, Jiang Cheng admitted defeat and agreed.

And so it was that Jiang Cheng somehow ended up in charge of the festivities for this Lunar New Year. Since Jiang Cheng had taken on this task and he was always very serious when he was in charge of anything, on the first day itself he was working on checking that everything was proper and prepared. Even down to the points that most people would not find to be all that important, which was why Wei Wuxian had gone looking for him only to find Jiang Cheng discussing flower arrangements of all things with a seriousness generally reserved by others for matters of state affairs.

"We're late, we're late for a very important date!" Wei Wuxian insisted, linking his arm with his little brother and beginning to drag him away.

Jiang Cheng frowned seriously before asking,

"What are you talking about? I've already sent out an itinerary and the party doesn't start yet for another hour, the most important guests haven't even all arrived yet."

"But it's the year of the Rabbit now! I'm sure you have everything together just fine, don't worry about minute details and come have some fun with us! Look who I brought!"

Jiang Cheng rolled his eyes at that allowing himself to be lead out despite his words, but commenting,

"Actually if you ask me it's the Year of the Cat, and if you are about to lead me to Lan Zhan than your guest is not exactly a surprise considering he is one of the guests of honor."
