"Mrs. Muqaddes?" I knock on her door, hearing my daughter's cry echoing around the empty corridor.

Mrs. Muqaddes opens the door with my daughter in her arms and she raises her arms towards me.

"She got scared hearing the lightening." Mrs. Muqaddes says extending my daughter to me.

I take my daughter in my arms and rub her back soothingly, kissing her head. "It's okay, baby. Mama is here."

She sobs quietly, hiding her face in my neck. I wipe her tears and pat her back. "Oh my baby."

"She was asleep until she heard the thunder...." Mrs. Muqaddes voice trails off. "Uh, Manar, who is he?"

I frown and turn around, my eyes widen when I see Mahib standing by the staircase, his eyes fixated on my daughter in my arms.

"Mahib." A soundless whisper leaves my mouth.

He walks towards me, his eyes still on Noor. His dark blue eyes looks at her and then at me. "Your daughter?"

I nod, patting Noor's back. While my heart started beating dangerously. "Yes."

He looks at Mrs. Muqaddes who stood by the doorframe and then back at Noor. "Is she okay? She was crying."

I look at him in part shock and confusion, he is asking so easily about my daughter as if that didn't fazed him.

"Ms. Manar? Is your daughter okay?"

I blink back and pat Noor's back. "Yes, she is fine. She got scared by the lightening." I look back at Mrs. Muqaddes. "This is Mrs. Muqaddes, the land lady, she is very kind woman, she looks after my daughter while I am at work."

Mahib gives her a small smile. "Nice to meet you."

"My boss." I say to her. Afraid she might take wrong sense of it.

"Ah." She nods. "Nice to meet you too."

"Can I help you with something?" Mahib offers.

I shake my head. "No, it's fine. You already did so much." I look at Mrs. Muqaddes, "He came to drop me because it was raining."

"You are drenched, my dear." Mrs. Muqaddes says. "You will catch a cold if you keep roaming around like that." She points at Mahib's wet clothes. "Come on in have a cup of tea while you dry yourself."

"I am fine, thank you." Mahib denies.

"She is right, Mr. Mahib, you gave me the umbrella and got under the rain, you could at least dry yourself, please."

"The rain isn't going to stop any time soon, it would be better if you come in and have a tea, you don't want a fever to catch you." Mrs. Muqaddes opens the door to her apartment widely. "I have made some dinner, why don't we all eat it together while it's still warm? Manar, Mr..?"
