My first few weeks in Derry where spent around moter gangs and alcohol, not very different then back in Portland. The biggest change was the people. There were not many of them, and they all walked around like they had a chip on there shoulder when, from what ide seen, they didn't. Life felt very simple. Just vodka, cigs, and the sweet sun of August.
After a while, a few characters seamed to stand out. There was a group of teen boys who tormented a large population of the youths around town. If i was in Portland, nothing about them would've stuck out, but here in Derry not many kids beat up other kids like they did. Another group that stood out were the Losers. Now, i wouldn't say there where a specific group of losers, more like multiple subdivisions of loser. I had no issue with them, they seamed annoying and weird but to each their own. If you where skinny, fat, wore glasses, braces or where crippled, you were probably a looser. Me, i had no real friends in Derry yet. It was summer so i hung around morercycle groups and acted as some sort of groupie for alcohol and weed, but non of the guys or girls i met there were considered proper friend.
School was starting up soon and i needed to get my self on track. Derry was supposed to be a new start for me and i did not want to fuck it up. At this rate, i was bound to be sent some where and i did not want to be.
