As hours passed, I began Caroline's training, teaching her the basics of combat. With each move, I pushed her to her limits, testing her strength and resilience.

I lunged at Caroline, my movements swift and powerful. She staggered back under the force of my attack, stumbling to the ground with a thud.

"Get up!" I commanded, my voice sharp with impatience.

She glared up at me as she slowly rose to her feet. "When can I face my father?" she demanded as she stomped her foot on the floor.

"When you at least beat me," I muttered under my breath.

Just as she got back into a fighting stance with her fist clenched, Jack swaggered in, clapping mockingly.

"Look who is finally stepping up in life," he laughed.

I blinked and rolled my eyes at Jack. Does he really think his snarky comments still bug me? I thought to myself.

With my emotions buried deep within me, almost nothing fazed me anymore. Jack's attempts at mockery barely registered, like water off a duck's back.

I shrugged casually. "Your comments don't bother me anymore, Jack," I remarked flatly.

He scoffed, shaking his head in disbelief. "There are times I miss the old you," he admitted.

I arched an eyebrow, a flicker of curiosity crossing my face. "Miss the old me? Why? Because I used to be easier to manipulate." I retorted.

Jack's gaze hardened as he regarded me. "Not exactly. More like I miss the reactions I used to get from you," he countered.

Rolling my eyes, I turned my attention back to Caroline. "Well, times have changed," I mentioned casually.

"Let's keep going," she urged, waving me on.

Jack then stomped away in protest without saying a word.

I nodded and assumed my fighting stance, bracing myself for Caroline's next move. She closed her eyes, and an ominous black energy began to emanate from her body, enveloping her in its dark aura.

With a swift motion, she unleashed her power, hurling it towards me with lethal intent. The ground shook as I gracefully dodged her attack, feeling the surge of dark energy brush past me like a chilling breeze.

Caroline groaned in anger as she realized her attack had missed its mark.

"Nice try," I taunted.

She gritted her teeth, determination flickering in her gaze as she prepared to launch another attack. With a swift motion, she summoned another wave of dark energy, aiming it directly at me.

I sidestepped her attack with ease, feeling a rush of adrenaline coursing through my veins as I evaded her strikes. Despite her growing frustration, I remained calm and focused, my mind clear and sharp as I anticipated her next move.

"Come on, Caroline, you can do better than that," I goaded.

Just as Caroline was about to make her next move, I sensed a disturbance in the atmosphere. I gazed around and saw nothing. Though what I heard was definitely not nothing, the wind was whooshing all around us, which was unnatural in the underworld.

Suddenly, Lucion materialized from the swirling smoke, his presence darkening. Caroline's eyes widened as she saw her father approach her. My eyes narrowed as I stepped in front of her and reached my hand over her, shielding her protectively.

"How did you get in here?!" I shouted.

Lucion laughed as he responded, "So many questions."

"Leave us alone, father," Caroline hissed.
