The rest of the drive wasn't much to talk about. Smit was right,- as always -and there wasn't much but farmland along the way.

Saskatoon was definitely a lot nicer then Winnipeg, and John kind of missed it. He'd miss Canada once they left.

Speed limits were a lot slower in Canada, and Smit didn't really seem to care. He sped heavily wherever he couldn't directly see a cop, and a few times it almost landed them in jail, or with a hefty fine, but so far they hadn't gotten as much as a 'whoop whoop, "slow the fuck down."'

Smit was a fucking miracle. He seemed to sense whenever a cop would be around, and it started to freak John the fuck out. People don't just know when something's going to happen, like snow, or random cop encounters.

Smit always did.

And he was so fucking casual about it.

"Smii7y, we should go on a cruise." Grizzy said from the backseat, effectively pulling John from his thoughts.

"I'm not setting foot anywhere near water, sorry." Smit huffed.

"Smit we drink water." John rolled his eyes, knowing that comment would annoy the shit out of Smii7y.

"John, I don't like large bodies of water, okay?" Smit sighed dramatically, "I can't swim."

"Smit, If you don't like water, then of course you can't swim." John said sarcastically while looking at his rings on the hand opposite of Smit.

"Smits just a pussy, that's why he can't swim." Grizzy grumbled, annoyed he couldn't go on a million dollar cruise. "You can't even get on a boat?"

"No, I won't make an hour on a boat without panicking." Smit mumbled, he seemed mildly embarrassed about his fear of water.

"Even a cruise ship?" John asked tentatively.

"Can't even look at the water." Smii7y said quietly, perhaps so Grizzy couldn't hear. Puffer was sound asleep, so he wasn't a worry.

What an interesting fear for one to have, especially Smit, who rode dangerous machinery in dangerous ways for a living. Water was the last thing John thought he'd fear.

Grizzy was definitely bored, he probably went on this trip with Smit alone, and could annoy him the whole way, but now he had been downgraded to the backseat with Puffer.

Not that sitting with Puffer was a bad thing, it's just that Puffer is boring sometimes, such as now, when he's sound asleep.

"Puffer." Grizzy whispered.

"Grizzy, don't wake the poor man up, he hasn't been sleeping all that well." Smit huffed.

"Yall are all boring." Grizzy rolled his eyes.

"What did I do to deserve that title?" John asked.

"Sucking up to Smit, or sucking something else, I don't know."

"Fucks sake Griz." Smit almost yelped, but his arm remained where John held onto it.

"Y'all fucking each other? Am I missing out?" Grizzy smirked.

"Yeah, join us." John said sarcastically.

"Love too, if only I could catch you two in the act." Grizzy's smirk only became bigger.

"Grizzy shut the fuck up, will you?" Smit huffed.

"Woah, feisty. John like it that way?" Grizzy egged on.

"Fuck yeah!" John was joining in on it fully now, dirty jokes are his specialty.

Smit only shook his head, he made no effort to move at all, and just kept driving. That was probably for the best.

"What did I just hear?" Puffer mumbled, his voice still hoarse from his nap.

"You heard that?" Grizzy asked.

"Well, didn't hear, but the convo made itself into my dream, so please don't talk about that again." Puffer huffed.

Grizzy laughed to that, and John snickered a bit. Even Smit giggled.

"You had a wet dream about that?" Grizzy started laughing a lot by now, and it was a small bit concerning.

"YES, do not talk about that shit again." Puffer huffed, annoyed.

"Guys, I'm driving, don't distract me!" Smit said while laughing.

"I'll make your dream come true." Grizzy smirked.

"Please no." John said quickly.

"GRIZZY, IM DRIVING." Smii7y yelped.

"Grizzy calm down, and annoy Puffer, would you?" John grumbled.

"What do you think I'm doing?" That was followed by a yelp from Puffer, and Grizzy reaching over the middle seat.

"Ayo?" Smit said as he looked at the rearview mirror.

"GIMME THAT SHIT BACK!" Puffer said as he too reached over the middle seat towards Grizzy.

Smit looked over to John, the look in his eyes was that of a solider who's seen everything. Actually, that's probably exactly what Smit was.

Smit might not have been deployed during his time, but John didn't really know.

Smit could have seen more shit than John knew about.

Poor guy.

Puffer and Grizzy both fought over whatever Puffer had, with plenty of aggressive words tossed in. It seemed the both of them were not letting up, so John excepted his fate, and continued to stare at Smit longingly, hoping he'd get what John was hinting at.

John found that Smit was so pretty, it was hard for him to look away, and Smit noticed this. His charm only increased whenever Smit would smile back at him, or do something so little, but so sweet that John couldn't help but smile at him too.

Smit had an aura that was just pleasing for John to be in, he wanted to be with him no matter where is, or how he's feeling.

It's a craving, an addiction. He didn't want to get rid of it though.

If only he could form that into words, then maybe Smit would understand it too.

Maybe he already does, and feels the same way.

It's too risky to ask.

Although John found himself wanting to ask anyway. He wanted to know everything about the man, which he knew he already did. He wanted more of this odd relationship, but couldn't formulate the words, or the courage to do something about it.

Maybe Smit would make the first move so he didn't have too. So he didn't have to keep guessing, and possibly guessing wrong.

John hated being wrong, so he'd just not do anything until he knew he was right.

He knew he was right though, and still couldn't do it.

As selfish as it seemed, John could barely think about telling Smit anything about how he felt. He had never truly felt that way before, and that probably wasn't a good sign.

But hiding the feelings never does anything to hide the lust.

If only he was as brave as Smit is.

~ A/N ~

A shitty chapter to try and force my way out of writers, and art block! Yayyy.

-Fun Fact(s)-

I'm playing Palia on my switch as a write this, it's also midnight!

Smit doesn't have any magical powers to see into the future, he's just good at predicting.

Grizzy doesn't actually feel that way about the two, he's just bugging them.

Grizzy and Puffer could be a thing in a the future, we'll see. (it is, im sorry.)
