The thought of a just a child he's known for just around 4 years was his everything, he wouldnt leave her for anything in the world, but he would leave you even if you were his first love, the woman he's known for years. "uhh hey grace... Could you please do me a favor? Im in a rush right now, I assume it's your weekend? Could you please, please take care of Jane for me for just 3 hours? I promise she's a good kid"

You stood there just staring at him but you understood how hard work loads can be and since he was still a young dad you sighed and agreed.

Jane was at your house, your house was pretty clean, you never really made a mess or even had time to make a mess of a house due to work, you let her watch your TV until she got hungry.

She was too shy to even ask you but you could hear her tummy rumbling so you got up to make her a small snack, she really liked it alot.

"Jane..."

She stared up at you, smiling, you hated it but it melted you instantly, you couldn't be any mean to her after all she's just a kid.

"I haven't seem your mother... Is she well?"

You asked her assuming if her mother was in the hospital or abroad hoping to get a small idea about her mom.

"I don't know where my mom is..."

It shredded your heart, was she saying her mother is dead or worse left her?

"oh sorry dear... Didn't mean to put it like that, have you ever seen your mom?"

"how does she look like?"

You asked her hoping she woudl answer and not be weirded out.

"she's pretty, she's pale and tall... She has brown wavy hair and green eyes"

Your heartbeat dropped the second you heard her description, your smile was fading away.
