I wish I could go back to 2020, the year they lifted that Provan-summons trophy.

I was one of the 37,000 odd people in attendance that night, this was around the time when me and pap had just met. We met each other on a dating app, I mean who wouldn't swipe right? You don't get a chance at love with an NRL player every day of the week. At the moment, we'd been treading waters. Absolutely nobody knew we were an item. Not even the press or his teammates knew of our relationship. But oh, how that would change in the years to come.

As I walked inside the halls of Accor stadium, the smell of sweat reeked throughout the air coming from within the boy's changeroom. But also the smell of victory. Cam Smith had lead his boys to sweet, sweet victory. With papi putting the nails in the coffin for Penrith with his runaway try. 6 points, 6 points that would make history. Not just for the boys but for the club, for Bellamy, for fans, for families and for all that's in between. The mighty storm had come out on top, after awaiting this moment for 3 whole years, and was it glorious.

As I entered the change room, I stood side by side with the other families of the Melbourne boys, listening to the boys as they scream their team song out from the bottom of their hearts. As pap's Clive Churchill medal dangled from around his neck, I stared at it in awe. I didn't believe it at first, but when they called up my boyfriend to receive the prestigious medal, words couldn't even describe what I'd felt. Even now after the win, the atmosphere was just so full of thrill and excitement.

Following the massive win for the boys, they ended up throwing a huge party

Following the massive win for the boys, they ended up throwing a huge party. Something well deserved for them. If you knew anything about melbourne, you'd know that they had values. Family, accountability, hard work, respect and passion. That was what they'd always followed. That's what Bellamy had always taught the boys. Boy, did it pay off tonight. I stepped out of the room with Ryan after all the boys took turns holding their shiny new trophy, and began walking out to the car to begin heading off to the afterparty.

After me and pap's swift arrival to the house where the party was being held for the night, the music had already stung my ears with a constant thumping as the speakers blared loudly. Dfft-dfft-dfft. In through one ear, out through the other. My head span, I was in a good few drinks of alcohol. I couldn't even walk straight. My speech slurred and my movements sluggish. You'd think I'd had an alcohol addiction. With the night still young, me and Ryan danced the night away, our bodies moving across the floor. My eyes met his, as his did mine. A smile playing upon both our faces. So the party went on into the night, and by the time it was over, paps had to carry me home bridal style because of how drunk I was. What a sight it was to see.

After the night had came to a close, me and paps went back to his place

After the night had came to a close, me and paps went back to his place. The night now had died down, memories from the night all hazy in my mind. Partially due to my intoxicated state. I lay down in bed beside Ryan, running my hands through his golden locks. A burp escaped my lips, the alcohol starting to take effect on my body. With my body limp, I manage to begin to speak softly. "Ryan... You really surprised me tonight... In more ways than one. You obviously impressed me with that win tonight, but also with those dance moves." A chuckle came from inside me, my tone calm and collected, overshadowing the fact I was heavily intoxicated. "I did it all for you..." Is what he said. I did it all for you.
