The siblings sat in their little cave as they ate their cake. She had thankfully not forgotten to bring three forks as they dug into the cake. With the silence surrounding them, the only noise was the waves crashing at the front of the rocks.

Laena had not been so fearful as she sat against a wall facing the small entrance between her siblings. "What do you believe we will have for dessert if we have eaten the cake?" Laena wondered, making Laerra stop as she ate the piece on her fork.

"Mother will have another made, I'm sure," Laerra told her sister as she watched Laenor look down at the cake with a regretful expression. Laerra laughed as she watched him, causing him to look at her before bursting with laughter.

Laena looked between her elder siblings wide-eyed before asking, "What has happened?" The twins' laughing slowly ended as they looked at their sister.

"It was nothing. Just enjoy your cake, but don't overeat." Laerra says, making Laena nod with a still confused expression before putting her fork back into the cake.

The twins finished the cake more than Laena as she stood and looked around. "Where did you find these?" Laena asked as she opened a wooden box, seeing a few seashells.

Laerra stood while Laenor cleaned the space up. She walked toward her younger sister. "When the tides lowered, I stayed by the door watching." She picked up the seashell Laena had.

It was a circular seashell that was white with blue-like shadows, and inside was a light blue, a color similar to their house colors. "I went outside, not telling mother or father, and found it right below the steps."

Laena listened in wonder as she picked up another. It was flat and went from red to pink. "You could keep it if you wish," Laerra says as Laena shakes her head.

"I insist. Just keep it close to you." Laerra says as Laenor clears his throat. "We should find seashells at first light if you like." He says, making Laena turn toward him with a smile.

"It is settled by first light. We search for the prettiest shell." Laerra says as she puts the shell back in the box and closes it. She turned and picked up the candle and followed them out of the tiny entrance, then down the rocks and out of the cave.

The twins walked ahead as Laena stayed behind, looking for any seashells. "I heard Mother and Father speaking last night," Laenor says, Laerra looked over her shoulder before stopping. "What of?" She asked as she looked back to her brother.

Laenor looked down at the stuff in his hands before coming back up at her. He breathed, then said, "They were speaking of you." Laerras eyes widened as her hands gripped the sides of her dress.

"Father has decided to betroth you to a Martell." He tells her as her palms sweat, and she steps back. "He wouldn't?" She asked in disbelief, "Mother wouldn't let him." Laenor put the blanket onto the sand before taking hold of her arms.

"We shall figure it out. You will be fine either way." He tells her as she finally looks into her brother's eyes. Laena ran up to the two, noticing the tense air between them. She had only caught the last sentence.

"Brother is right. We have each other." Laena told her, calming her a bit as Laenor let her go and grabbed the things from the sand. "Mother won't want us to be late." He tells them as he holds his free hand toward his twin, who takes it gratefully. Laena took Laerra's other hand as they approached the steps.
