Willow had a sister, whose name was Charlotte, but most people called her Cherry.
Cherry was three years older than Willow, making her seventeen as of the new year.
The two girls' parents were out of town for a New Year's event that their work was hosting, leaving Cherry and Willow alone for the week. Willow liked it, mainly because she was chore-free and got to go out with her friends whenever she pleased. Cherry liked it for the same reason, but for the most part, the girls were completely different.
Charlotte was popular, had a lot of friends, and had some new boy head over heels for her every other week. She had good grades, but hid it from people at school and acted like she was stupid. At least she wasn't throwing her life away.
Willow was quieter at school, had a few close friends, pretty good grades, and did have some boys interested in her, but rolled her eyes at the thought of dating.

"You do realize I'll have to be there, right?" Willow cocked a brow.
"Just stay in your room," Cherry shrugged.
"Hell no! I live here, not your friends! And you're not Mom!"
"Mom put me in charge," Charlotte pointed out.
"Yeah, and Mom would totally be okay with you throwing a party," Willow sarcastically said, rolling her eyes and putting her hands up to emphasize the word "totally." "She only put you in charge 'cause you're older. I'm ten times more responsible than you."
"Whatever. Stay in your room."
"Why? 'Cause you're gonna be making out with some guy?" Willow snapped. "Y'know what? It's probably because you're gonna be drunk or something."
"You are unbelievable! Whatever, party, get drunk, I give up. Don't say I didn't warn you," Cherry said before leaving Willow's room.
"Oh, I will, don't worry!" Willow jokingly said before laughing. The girl pulled out her phone. If there was gonna be a party at her house, she might as well invite her own friends rather than be surrounded by people in her sister's grade.
So, naturally, she texted Forrest first.
"My sister's throwing a party for New Year's, her and her friends are probably gonna wind up drunk. You wanna come? I don't want to be surrounded by strangers."
Forrest replied pretty quickly.
"Uh... Is that a great idea?"
"Nope."
"What time?"
"Like 10:00 I think."
"See ya'."
"Yayyy :)"
Willow also decided to text Brixton, knowing Rowan and Grey were out of town visiting family. Plus, Rowan had a crush on Cherry. Willow cringed whenever she remembered that fact.
